Literally the only commercial auditions I’ve had in the post 2 years are gambling, *wink* not gambling, and oddly, multiple depts of a hospital in NJ.

Yeah, boasting that now his building (40 Wall) was the tallest in Lower Manhattan…which it wasn’t. He supposedly watched the towers fall from his office. Definitely NOT in the rubble.

And yet they weren’t going to release it. So glad the pressure campaign won out.

Do you have a camera in my apt??

Sue Berch @planetsue.bsky.social · 23/08/2026
22 years in this apt. I have a framed poster from a show I did, on top of my dresser leaning against the wall. Closest I’ve gotten to hanging anything. I mean, you don’t know, I may move.

For decades, the “old guys” of the BBC Alumni Association continued to give back to their beloved center. My dad would have been 96 this year. I still have many of the historic documents of the club as my dad was Treasurer. He would love to know his old neighborhood was getting some love.

When my dad was a teen in Brownsville, he and his friends helped form the Brownsville Boys Club which later became the Brownsville Boys & Girls Club and now is called the Brownsville Recreation Center or BRC.

Glad you got to Arthur's Seat. It's a lovely city. I've spent a lot of time there over the years. I have a really good friend who lives there.

In the US, carpenter building furniture & seamstress finishing men's vests in a factory. In Austria-Hungary, farm laborer & shop worker in family general store. 96 years ago, the farm laborer becomes a house painter & the shop worker becomes a seamstress finishing coats in a factory, both in the US.

We get flood advisories frequently in NYC. Likely more visible because so many people outside of here now follow our mayor.

Like when I went to NYC.gov, searched "4th of July fireworks 2026" and the first 3 results were for Mayor Adams? Or when I searched for info about SCRIE and realized I was sent to really old information? Glad you are going to improve this.

My brother, may he rest in peace, was a political science professor and debate coach at West Virginia University. He was so proud of his students and the work he did at WVU. He would be appalled at what the university has turned into.

You’ve identified the real problem. We’ve trained our students to take tests and worry about grades rather than wanting to actually learn. Why pay all that money for an education when you aren’t curious and thirsty to actually learn? Chasing numbers rather than knowledge.

Hi Parks Commissioner! Please hire more gardeners. There are way too few for the number of parks we have and they are important for keeping those parks and gardens healthy.

These guys get upset when a single American gets a few bucks thru SNAP so they can eat, but $20 billion give or take a few hundred billion to Iran, no big deal.

I was once in a Shakespeare theater company where we did Karaoke Shakespeare as a fundraiser. One character was played by a company member and the other by the person who won the bidding. We had their lines on big cards which were set up on an easel (this was the '90s...). It was a blast.

And if you follow the Mayor's link (NYC.gov/summer), that app provides options for the non-sporty folks too!

There's free kayaking in various parts of the city like at Downtown Boathouse. Free movies at parks and on piers. Governor's Island. High Line. Free Shakespeare in the Park (Central Park). Get a book from the NY Public Library, grab an old blanket, and head to any park and read.

In the 1930s-'50s, my parents were born and raised in Bed-Stuy & Brownsville. They often told me, the area was Jews, Blacks, & Italians, they were all poor & they got along. Yes, by the '50s, it was predominantly a Black neighborhood, but please don't erase the immigrants who lived alongside them.

The majority of commercial auditions I've been seeing lately are for AI betting or AI stock investing. It's insane.

Hey Brad, if you become our Congressman, perhaps you can get the start of the 5 Boro moved away from the residential neighborhood it's in and down to someplace like Battery Park. It's a great event but it's outgrown Church Street for a starting point.

So many things wrong here but how does that even say "Trump"? There are too many humps to be "rum" between what I guess is the T and maybe is the p.

That's the key...will you actually eat it? Cheap food that you won't eat is still food waste. And good for you for actually taking care of yourself. You deserve it and your kids deserve a healthy mom and to learn self-care is important too. You are doing great!

Ok. It’s even more absurd. Just went by again & asked the cops on duty. Today is “bring your kids to work” day. The Star Wars characters were the only costume characters there. Perhaps they were confessing to their kids.

I took that photo. Obviously they aren’t recruits. But also not a protest. That street is locked off in front of the Federal Building. They chase off protests on that side. My best guess would be something filming or a promotion for the new Mandalorian film.

In NYC, right now, in front of 26 Federal Plaza, they seem to have found some new recruits. Not a joke. This photo is real and a bit too on the nose.
Darth Vader & Stormtroopers in front of 26 Federal Plaza in NYC where DHS has been kidnapping people who are coming out of immigration court (“doing it the right way”).

You’d be amazed if any of the cruise ships had passengers? What do you think they are transporting? Not disagreeing that there are more obvious ships.
100
Sue Berch @planetsue.bsky.social · 20/04/2026
It was passenger ship. They snuck weapons on unbeknownst to the passengers.

Sue Berch @planetsue.bsky.social · 20/04/2026
Though the passengers had no clue. Personally, I’m thankful my grandmother, who was 15 & by herself, came over on it in 1911 rather than 1915 or I likely wouldn’t exist.

Setting aside the absurdity of divvying up pre-k by economics, these neighborhoods are more economically mixed. We have super expensive apts and public housing apts in the same area. We also have buildings where 20% are subsidized apartments for low or middle income. It’s not so simple.
