I’ve been stuck on the Amtrak for about an hour, after about a 14 hour day of traveling already. I just want to go home. :( BUT thankfully, as I’ve typed this, we’re back on track. Still have about an hour and a half left to go though. 🥲

✍️ this week ive been forcing myself to draw—not for any work, clients, etc., but for me. its been difficult to stop myself because i love working tbh, but i realized how necessary it is. i looked back on my old art and remembered how much i love the physical act of sketching.

sketch of a man hovering over an overly large, life sized drip coffee apparatus and cup, in a coffee shop. behind him are prepaid coffee receipts lining the wall.

rough sketch of a man with a shawl covering his head, an eye on his forehead and spikes/arrows cementing the fabric to his skull

Me, driving home from giving thanks: aww the streetlights are out?! Nope. Just the dense ass fog making it so that I couldn’t even see two streetlights ahead. And people still drive fast & dumb. 🙃

2016 vs 2022! i guess i’ve never put these side by side before! 🎨 it’s wild to see how my style has evolved over the years ✨

digital painting of actor Tom Hardy in dramatically rendered lighting. the edges of his white button up fade to painterly strokes into the background, contrasted by harsh edged lighting. he looks off to the left, facing the words “wow such adorable” which are written in light blue.

another digital painting of actor Tom Hardy; this is more chunky in its strokes, with less apparent drama in its lighting. he looks towards the left again, with the small watermarked text “plakruslar” on the right side of his face along the neck.

Older painting of a Nasutoceratops in acrylic! Ceratopsians and tiny birds are always a fun combo 🐦‍⬛

Flowers for Kim Jung Gi. ✨ I still feel all the big feelings about KJGs passing, even years later. He was a gift to this universe and a modern master. I’m so thankful to have seen this man work his magic live, and enjoyed the art that he shared with the world.
