We got us a hurricane heading our way, too. Not nearly as big as the Gulf one and it will mostly hit down south but it does mean we have a good chance of rain. It will be a welcome relief. Last night was the first night the overnight temp dropped below 70 (69).

It hit 100 here today one mile east of the beach. Fortunately the humidity has not been as bad as it's been. But the AC has not stopped running all day although I've had it set in the upper 70s. I'm paranoid it's going to break down because it's only supposed to get hotter.

Real progress on the ugly chapters of my WIP. All my writerly life when I've reached an impasse I've learned to let it go for the day and sleep on it. 9 times out of 10, when I return to the ms my right brain has solved the problem and I know exactly what to do. Hallelujah!

I worked on later chapters of my WIP today. These chapters are very ugly and I will have to go over them again. This is the point in the zero draft where I fleshed out a lot of stuff, but was kind of writing in exhaustion and despair and it shows. Onward. Until the world ends.
