Pretty sure it's Anthony Starr with a double r, btw!

Oh, he was phenomenal in it. Even in the final season, when everything else felt badly phoned in, he remained fully committed. Know nothing about the man, but as a performer he elevated it, at its worst and its best, equally.

So it doesn't go "fascism kinda good" direction, but it goes very heavily on "this man is a bad man, and you're supposed to find him weak and dumb and pathetic at any and all times". Which kills the fact it's meant to be drama first. Tension's gone, stakes are gone. It limps across the finish line.

No spoilers, just tone. The earlier series was a satire, but one was veiled enough that Homelander being a loser wasn't completely spelled out; and he could be a terrifying villain as a result. Whereas last series goes all in on "look at that messy idiot, he's just like You Know Who".

Don't think The Boys got any mentions yet. The last two seasons - the final season in particular - were so basic, vulgar and just devoid of cleverness, I'm honestly no longer sure if it was ever good. Apparently fashy people didn't get it's a satire, and they decided to pivot for them, specifically.

Why on earth is BBC doing PR for Far Right? This isn't even some limp attempt at objectivity. It's a fluff piece for thugs.

"Can be peaceful and dignified" doesn't read as an ironclad guarantee. I have seen relatives in unimaginable pain, just days from dying naturally, with no hope for anything but few more days of agony. What exactly did this poisonous compassion win them today?

It's the simple fact that we expect the racists to be racists (and they are), and we expect the left-wingers in power to condemn them (and they aren't). Both behaviours are infuriating, but only one is counter-intuitive. So, befuddlement, I guess?

As an ex-smoker, the reason I bounced off it very quick is because of how easy it was to continue. Cigarette lasts you a few minutes, and it's a concious choice to start another, whereas it was trivially easy to just vape for an hour straight. Don't hate it, but it's not made to quit easy.

I fully agree it is unhinged to record anything if your intended audience is anyone other than yourself. Nobody else will care if they weren't there.

Yep, same for me. I'll record a few 15 second clips at the gigs, holiday trips, anything I'm really enjoying - because I found them to be incredibly powerful memory triggers. Work so much better than a static picture, or just thinking back to it, for whatever reason. Brains are weird.

I'd definitely go with Age of Ultron for one, because it was Brand Synergy: The Movie that barely worked for MCU die-hards. And then, I think - Guardians of the Galaxy - mostly standalone, no cast overlap, different setting and tone - to properly confuse you about what MCU even is.

Helps that the movie is excellent. I'm not normally a Spidey guy, but loved this one.

That still sounds like a better Ant-Man movie than Quantumania, honestly.

The historical accuracy is important. It's a disgrace how the cyclopses look, they should be fully feathered.

It's incoherent, isn't it? How can someone be too young to use Youtube one day, and old enough to vote the following day?

I wouldn't rule out that this is genuinely what he's passionate about and wants to leave as his legacy. Surface-level "for the children" nonsense is entirely on brand for the dull, beaurocratic void of ideas he turned out to be.

Came here to mention same show, but with fewer caveats. Season 4 was return to form, with a full circle ending. Stop the show there and it's still an all-timer, even with the dip in quality in the prior season.

11th Hour is mine, too. It was such a joy to see, too, that the show is more than fine under the new team. Wasn't a gimme with basically everyone leaving same time.

Yup, that's the ever-present "nyeh nyeh, I'm smarter than you" crowd. Just so happens that their current kink is being apologists for unhinged billionaires.

Hi. Polish person here. This is gramatically correct; the language has a large number of declination rules, making all words extremely mutable, and they precise form is crucial for context. "Jonn dziękuje Jasonowi" means you're thanking him, "Jonnowi dziękuje Jason" means he's thanking you.

One very useful learning for me from all this was that "when someone shows you who they are, believe them first time" applies equally to people you feel (or want to feel) optimistic about.

Is it just the case of there being enough actually good ones, that the mediocre ones got to bask in their reflected glow at the time? I remember being very disappointed at times (Age of Ultron felt like a very long trailer), but never for multiple movies in a row, the way it happens now.

Probably Thor: Love & Thunder. First few years of Marvel movies were solid entertainment, then it went off the rails a bit, but I heard from a few people this one was a bit of a return to form. It very much wasn't, and I felt like every bit the idiot whoever made it assumed I was on my way out.

If there is one thing that security training at work taught me, it's that the emails which go "URGENT! Act now, or face big consequences" are typically the most legitimate & trustworthy ones, and you should always click on them.

Any preferred marketplace if I want to grab this digitally? Cyclops was, is, and will always be right, and Sentinels was the highlight of FtA, so would like to give this a punt.

As for the restaurant, it's been a while, but I loved Kogel Mogel in the old town - great traditional food, fantastic service, and very reasonable prices (especially coming from UK).

Couple others have mentioned it already, but - if you're not fussed about the weather - Krakow's old town is lovely, lots to do, lots of places to eat, and still not too pricey. Amsterdam was going to be my other recommendation till the last three words :)

Aside from everything else being top notch, The Pyramid scene ("change of plans" one) is an incredibly satisfying, absolutely amazing payoff. Bunch of seemingly throwaway bits just clicking together with a satisfying crunch. My single favourite comic book page in a very long time.

At other times, there would be an angry Scotsman, stating "that is unforgivable", taking a short break, then adding "at this level". Again, it's 50/50 whether he'd elaborate what "that" is. You'd need to try & piece it together yourself from the recent events on the table.

As an avid snooker watcher, I can confirm everything you wrote is exactly right, and I'm reasonably certain getting the earpiece wouldn't really impact your goal of remaining confused. Sometimes there would be an elderly gentleman yelling "where's the cue ball going?" manically, without elaborating.

I'm curious because progress-wise I had very similar experience to yours - did everything there was to do in the first game quite happily (and still did occasional run after), but fell off somewhere in the end game clean up in the 2nd; once I was done experimenting with different builds, basically.

Do you think the narrative could have contributed to losing interest earlier, too? I adore first Hades in no small part because they explained perfectly why you'd keep doing the runs at any point in the story, whereas post-ending in Hades II felt very much bolted on.

Like, seriously, this is such a red flag, it should come with a hammer & sickle in the top left corner. You employ those people, their financial security depends on you, and they still tried pushing back, and clearly only settled on "more or less OK" because the alternative is leaving.

Love to get the "using generative AI for concept art, despite the pushback from the creatives" nice and early from Mr CEO. Saves us all years of hyping it up, only to get disappointed later.

Omega attack depends massively on the weapon. Cast is consitently useful, but you generally don't need to worry about omega cast.
