Toy Mauser were around from the 60's. Probably not this exact one but something similar.
A black toy Mauser machine gun pistol from the 1960s made in Hong Kong.

The Kandy Man had that kind of vibe, freaked me out a bit back in 1988.
A monster in the TV series Doctor Who. The Kandy Man is a human shaped monster made up of sweets and robotics. His head is a blue licorice allsort with wild eyes and a tin moustache.

Always makes me think it's what an Osteopath would call her dog (which in my head, is a Scotty Terrier).
A handsome black Scottish Terrier dog, who may be named Mr Clavicular, standing proud in some winter grassland.

I had a neat little compact Sony Cyber Shot DSCW80, which used one of those memory cards. Really nice before phone cameras took over. Still have it somewhere.

Modified version of a WW2 poster where a man in a suit, eating his dinner, is being offered "AI" by another man out of frame. He is holding his hand up in refusal.

Sometimes you see such a crazy bet that you have to place a wager...
A winning betting slip. The bet was placed 10th Dec 2021 for Liz Truss to be the next Prime Minister after Boris Johnson. It paid out on 5th Sept 2022.

Not ours, but it's a better picture than I have to hand. Typical ROV used with a pair of robot arms. About the size of a mid sized car for scale.
A Schilling UHD Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) in yellow and grey. It has a couple of robot arms mounted at the front.

A quote from Joseph Weizenbaun the inventor of the ELIZA chatbot in 1966.

"What I had not realized is that extremely short exposures to a relatively simple computer program could induce powerful delusional thinking in quite normal people".

That they ever thought that people would pay $3000+ to look this silly will never not be funny to me.
The cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Tim Cook the CEO of Apple is sitting at his desk in casual clothes wearing the Apple Vision VR headset. He looks ridiculous. Very not cool. Kinda sad old man trying to be cool but failing.

Someone's been using the "AI enhanced" version of Excel...
Screenshot of Microsoft Excel, the user has asked the co-pilot AI to sum a column of three numbers; 1,2 and 3. The AI has given the answer: 15.

The comment above the screenshot says "This will crash the global economy".

Current stage of US economy
Wile E Coyote has come to a screeching halt, unfortunately for him about 3 feet off a cliff edge and both gravity and reality have yet to kick in.

Have a read of Cory's post above. He details why it's not the same as Dot Com and why it doesn't scale in the same way. Machine Learning and "AI" have uses, but they do not even remotely support the expenditure and it is unsustainable. Making Excel shite at maths isn't worth 1+ trillion dollars.

One of my favourite albums is Astronomy for Dogs by The Aliens.
An album cover showing an evening sky with the sun just below the horizon and some stars visible. In the foreground in silhouette is a telescope and a dog looking through it.

One of the more popular unisex fragrances in the UK (CK One) smells like Pritt Stick glue to me 🤷‍♂️ people still seem to like it.

Always loved this photo c1890 demonstrating the principles of a cantilever bridge prior to construction of the Forth Rail Bridge (which is still in use and I cross every month).
Three men in the late Victorian period, two seated with large bricks used as counter-balance to hold up a third person in midair between them.

I think you're right, found this on some fishing website, it's supposed to be dissolvable PVA mesh with bait inside. The spongy balls could be what's left of boilies (normally carp fishing, but who knows!)

Sometimes in mathematical sequence too.

The classic XKCD comic imgs.xkcd.com/comics/depen...
A comic picture by XKCD's Randall showing a jumble of different size and shaped objects all stacked precariously on top of each other. The stack is labelled "all modern digital infrastructure". At the bottom is a single, small thin object which is supporting the whole stack and is labelled "a project some person in Nebraska has been thanklessly maintaining since 2003".

Any story about Gazza is an excuse to post the legendary picture of him and Vinnie.
Vinnie Jones playing for Wimbledon and Paul Gascoigne for Newcastle. Vinnie, with a look of anger on his face, has reached behind him and grabbed Paul in a very sensitive area, the look on Paul's face shows he is clearly squeezing hard. The Ref should call "handballs"
