Years ago I couldn't afford to buy a 70-200mm ƒ2.8, so I never really tried to do any wildlife photography. I took this picture with a $30 op-shopped EF-S kit zoom lens with busted autofocus. Peak bird.

This is the decklist for Event 3, building Silverquill out of a Lorehold box. Joined Researchers has a special place in this deck for me, as the art really does look like my girlfriend and I, and I used it to great effect! Giving a first strike creature +1/+1s feels incredible

#Strixhaven Prerelease was SO GOOD TO ME! On the event side: Event 1: Silverquill box, built Silverquill, came 6th (2-1) which was my best result ever. Event 2: Lorehold box, built Lorehold, came 16th but had a blast Event 3: Lorehold box, built SILVERQUILL, went 2-1 (5-2-0) for 3rd! Place! 😤 #mtg

I jokingly allowed my players to buy a Helm of Teleportation (that insists upon itself), thinking I'd have to find some whacky third-party art to portray the item when I make them a physical card for it. As it turns out, the Helm of Teleportation really does insist upon itself! D&D official art...

Dang, the Orzhov Aetherdrift-only commander gimmick deck I ran last night at FNM held its own surprisingly well! No wins, but second place against waaaaaaaay more expensive decks. Probably helps that I pulled an Aetherspark from my entry pack and immediately put it in game 2, but still… very fun 😊

Decided it was time for a new colour in my life… goodbye bright blue, hello deep green 💚

This holiday has been better than almost any other break I have ever had. I’ve had equal opportunities to adventure and to rest, and I feel amazing even on the days when I feel wrecked. Here I am standing near the top of kunanyi, the unavoidable and beautiful mountain, contemplating moving here.

Played some casual workplace magic today, and by far the best card in play was STEVE! A random joke mascot for a clue-generating deck, he was one Sherlock deerstalker away from perfection I reckon.

A white dry-erase MTG token with the name STEVE. They are a 1/1 goblin. A basic oval-shaped green smiley face sits on top of two green lines that fade into nothing to form the torso. One arm is wearing a blue circle on its wrist, the other holds a magnifying glass. A single black earring hangs from one of two pointed ears, and a monocle covers the right eye.

Been a long time since I’ve had a proper story idea (more than a few pages). Have cracked out the only method that’s worked for me as a writer before now to keep it organised: the humble stack of post-it notes! Due to my small space, this is now my view from bed… I feel haunted by the narrative 😅

Today (November 20) is Trans Day of Remembrance. We honour the memory & spirit of all trans folk who we've lost to bigotry and violence, we remember them, and we fight on for them. We fucking fight on for them, and for us, okay? We fight on.

I went 3-3 overall at the Kill Team tournament in Queensland (and played a 30min speed game to a tie on Saturday night after a bottle and a half of wine 😂), and that gave me a career best 6th place! 2 of my losses were incredibly close, too, with only 1 point separating me and 5th placed Emma!

After seeing the Warp Coven buffs in #KillTeam, decided I'd pick up some Thousand Sons Rubric Marines to build a team with! Managed to pick up some pre-bashed sorcerers from a mate for cheap, built another for me to personalise, and built another two Rubrics. Next up, paint stripping!

My time in the Killzone Sydney Kill Team league was interesting, with a 50% win rate using Scouts! Definitely getting a handle on them at this stage, and keen to keep refining my play with them! MVP Hunter for attention~
