awhile back i ran a game of delta green for a friend (i like running one on one for horror) and gave them an opera ticket with a qr code that made it look like their phone was connecting to some kind of old military terminal. had the starter rules, discord link, and other goodies on there. #ttrpg

throwback to this uh paranormal image i created in 2009

been working on this project on me days off. text-based rpg. turn-based combat. ultima underworld style magic. overworld + exploring individual areas. random encounters/events. day/night cycle with moon phases eventually tied to magic. twine/sugarcube so runs in a browser. #screenshotsaturday

At the very top of the screen is a horizontal line of hyperlinks: Character, Inventory, Elixirs, Restart, Saves

In the center of the screen, framed in a minimal border, is an overworld map composed of 24x24 ASCII-inspired tiles, showing mountains, roads, forests, hills, towns, cities, towers, ruins, and water.

Below the overworld map, and towards the bottom of the screen, is an action bar of buttons: Rest, Magic, Skills, Elixirs, Items

Under the action bar is current character information: health, stamina, current effects. To the right of the character information, and in the center is a compass displaying the directions you can travel in: north, east, south, west. To the right of the compass, is environmental status: current time, weather, light conditions.

Examples of some of the combat text:
"Your long sword is blocked and deflected by the goblins shield."
"The goblin misses you."
"The goblin yells: "Join the guard, they said! See the world, they said! I'd rather be sailing."

Below the combat log, and outside of the border, is text that describes the health of the goblin: "A goblin is barely clinging to life!"

Below the status of the goblin is an action bar of buttons: Attack, Magic, Skills, Elixirs, Items

Under the action bar is current character information: health, stamina, current effects. To the right of the character information, and in the center is a placeholder graphic of an X. To the right of the placeholder graphic is environmental status: current time, weather, light conditions.

some recent work i did for a ttrpg zine for horror game delta green
