Městský pivovar Domažlice, the pivnice this time. Great staff 12 is an amazing dvanda Svatováclavská 12 is almost like a basketful of fresh Saaz in a precarious balance. Doppel 18...well if I didn't have to get the train back, things would get very interesting - wonderful pivíčko this is.

At Restaurace Pivovar Domažlice Nice place, busy, with only one server taking care of everything this side of the kitchen, and doing a great job at that. Food: česnečka was perfect. Vepřový řízek was disappointing to say the least Beer: only had the house's Desítka, 3 times - say no more...

I agree with you on the last point. Residential properties as an object of investment is immoral, and their ownership by corporations should be limited to a bare minumum. Also, fuck AirBnB and the likes! These is were cities can take action, and they're still dragging their feet.

So, do we have to wait until a pub closes to build much-needed housing in an area that is not heritage protected? I feel for the štamgasty (I know how it feels when a local disappears for whatever reason), but here I feel it's understandable - this is not a case of a greedy landlord

I share the feeling about the loss of an old pub, but the building itself has little historical value, and Prague is in dire need of housing - I would be livind if they were to put an office building or a supermarket there. Again, sad, but understandable.

Poctivej Výčep is the sort of new-gen pivnice that does everything right, and then some. Nobody inside today, but the štamgasty are in the zahrada making things pretty lively. Another one of those places every beer and pub lover would love to have near home.

Pivovar Šedivák is a classic sídlištní hospoda that, instead of having Gambáč or Staráč, happens to make its own beer. The 10 and the 12 are far from stellar, but are passable enough to help you enjoy the neighbourhood atmosphere, especially when the štamgasty start to gather.

There's a jarmark in the náměstí. The atmosphere is nice, there's some interesting street food, and even two minipivovarů, but I'm already 3/4 pissed and docela pipón; all i can put inside me right now is an espresso doppio, and a proper BOING! one at that...

Only one Antoš beer, the magnificent Tlustý netopýř (not something you want to have more than one, if you have a couple of buses left to get home). The rest is mostly Sibeeria Brewery, and with ridiculous prices (and I couldn't resist Lollihop, couple of buses notwithstanding)

(2/2) Továrenská 10 went down too fast to make a proper assessment, but I can safely say it was better than just good. Kruták 12 was a more than perfect pairing for a more than perfect bůčková pomazánka. Salzberg 12 is a very, very good Tmavý that, alas, is served criminally cold.

First stopover is this cute little place with self-service. You take a beer from the fridge, pay dropping cash in the box or with the QR code, and sit to enjoy the quiet. Haven't drunk Chodovar in eons - not bad, mild oxidation notwithstanding

The beers? I must I'd struggle to tell apart the 11 Světlá and the 12 Polotmavá in a double blind tasting. Not that they are bad - far from it - they're just too similar. I can't be arsed with the ales, though. Otherwise, I'm happier than perro con dos colas, and I have one stop left...

(1/2) At Minipivovar Most. The 22 km from Klíny were naprosto pohodička, compared to yesterday's 17. The place is über modern, but pretty cool - that wall of windows makes all the difference. The lasagna was perfect after the hike, and service is great.

As for the piva: on a second round inspection, the Světlý ležák is average, and I'm perhaps being a little generous, but the tmavá 13 is good enough to warrant ještě jednou. I wonder if they are really brewed on site, though...

(1/2) Still hungry and in chochán mode, I had to see what the food is like at Pivovar & Restaurace Emeran. Česnečka checked all the boxes and then some. Kančí výpečky were very good, if a tad too salty. The clear winners today are those bramboračky...

I don't know if it's because I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, but the bramboráky se zelím and fried onion at Penzion Stará škola (the other dining option in Klíny, it seems) were beyond superlative. Perfect doesn't do them justice.

At Pivovar Ossegg. Gorgeous beer garden with great neighbourhood atmosphere, buřty na pivu better than polvo mañanero, and very friendly staff. The beers are unremarkable, but competent enough to make you want ještě jednou and enjoy the place. I'm glad I'm here.

A quick stop at Restaurace Beseda, in Hrob (what a name for a town!), before the last and hardest bit of today's walk. Dršťkovka was derreconchamňamdopičí, Gambáč 10 is leagues better than Monopol's Světlý ležák, and I feel I brought the average age down a decade. Nice place...

U Tří karafiátů is a modern neighbourhood pivnice with a century-old feel and a beer range that wouldn't be out of place in Vršovice - they have Wild Creatures on tap today (and all skvělé ušetřené). The sort of place every beer and pub lover would love to have near home.

Wellness Hotel Pivovar Monopol is a grand place, gorgeous, really. The beers are... Well, the Světlý ležák was a margarine bomb, and the other two were just alright. Koleno looked good, but it was a far cry from the Bavarian schweinshaxe, but that is more a Czech feature than a Monopol bug.
