I don't agree, those who experienced the aftermath of the second world war know what fascism is like and we can recognise the cult mindset that comes from worshiping the head of state.Too many of my boomer peer group are already suffering dementia or Alzheimer's and simply should not have a vote!

Thank you, I have. I now use mail, calendar and vpn, I don't need the office stuff but do need, perhaps, the authenticator. I am very probably a Luddite but I do not intend to use AI until they can confirm they have given it empathy.

Snap, I use Vivaldi as my designated search engine, I think it is great. I use my Proton email address as my primary email address and have registered my old Gmail address with Proton so all my old emails remain collated on the same screen until their relevance withers on the vine.

Thank you for the information, I use Proton mail and did wonder about the other apps in the suite. Fortunately, after retiring over 20 years ago, I no longer need Microsoft office type functionality in my life. This in itself brings me great joy. I have relaxed into a simple life.

I try to disable all the AI apps but find the companies try to switch it on every time they say you need to update your software, we have to remain vigilant and push to have secure European solutions. I don't mind less features for a secure European alternative to American avarice

Yes, I know. It is being rolled out and developed at the same time. Once you down load the app to your phone you can check if your bank is ready, if not you will be ready when they are. If you encourage your bank they might move quicker.

I was caught in the same trap with my wife, she and her sisters are not software savvy and they refuse to switch. I loaded the French Olvid app (european recommended alternative to WhatsApp) and said it is the only way she can nag me on-line, she signed up and it works well 8-)
