I live on a street filled with restaurants. There are some other shops as well, but it's heavily restaurants. This advertisement is just a few doors down from me, and it sticks out horribly.

That's the best! I used to go to a little Indian/Sri Lankan place. I'd always get the special, so I'd just walk in, they'd confirm, and it was off to the races. Plus I drank a ton of water, so rather than refilling my glass they'd just bring a pitcher. When my family visited they comped us dessert.

Years ago I encountered Minions ice cream at a Baskin Robbins in Japan. My face was so shocked they immediately offered me a sample. To be clear, I wasn't even in line, just froze in horror.

My first time in Japan I got lost while looking for a museum and ended up in a lovely little neighborhood like that. When I finally moved to Shizuoka-shi my own area had a very different vibe, since I was right near a busy city street. It was still nice though.

One of my favorite romcoms began as a hentai doujinshi and expanded into a serialized manga but importantly: they are telling one story in one continuity, and the manga references the pornography without being pornographic itself. I've always felt this is more meaningful than it gets credit for.

My millennial complaint here is Dave Thomas designed the frosty as a mix of chocolate and vanilla so as to not overpower the taste of a hamburger, and all these other frosty flavors and floats misunderstands the point of it entirely. I'm progressive in almost all areas but not this one.

I lived in the area the Inaba company was founded in Japan. When I learned they were the makers of tubes, I sent my brother some churu for his cat for the holidays. His email about it is one of my favorite things.
