the ascians being giants makes me imagine that the source started out really small and every time a calamity happens everybody gets a little taller but since the world gets bigger too nobody notices. i dont think thats how it works at all its just funny to me as a concept

jay | ffxiv 5.1 NO SPOILERS PLS @piromantic.bsky.social · 3h

watching my stream back. wait a fucking second. do people from the source rejoin with their reflections every time a calamity happens i thought the people in the reflection just died

can you tell i was a miss scarlet main when i was 9 again its like. its an 80s movie its whatever. i just need to stop taking movie recommendations from tumblr

210

jay | ffxiv 5.1 NO SPOILERS PLS @piromantic.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

its not the fact that men in the cast were written to be creeps its the fact that 1. miss scarlet seems to have zero self preservation when we first meet her despite her background 2. that she has to kiss the guy who groped her and 3. that the telegram girl's murder is purely played for laughs???

finally watched clue 1985. it was fun. i think i turned the wrong part of my brain off (the solving mysteries part instead of the 'noticing how normalized violence against women is' part) and tumblr maaaaybe set my expectations a little too high

moderator: so what do you think about ai? aren't you so excited by the potential it holds? do you think it will make all our jobs obsolete lol every single panelist: no. 🙂

jay | ffxiv 5.1 NO SPOILERS PLS @piromantic.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

the ai debate in science circles is like. nobody wants to say bad things about it bc thats a great way to lose funding but sometimes you can just tell when people are wayyyy less enthusiastic about it than their colleagues are

jay | ffxiv 5.1 NO SPOILERS PLS @piromantic.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

so then you go umm well maybe one of the mods lets you play chess? and they go hmm ok. think about that. and you go ok. and later you find out theyre a chess super grandmaster and its like thats cool and all but i was trying to explain minecraft mods 😭

010

jay | ffxiv 5.1 NO SPOILERS PLS @piromantic.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

imagine that your favorite hobby is compiling insane groups of minecraft mods and making them all compatible with each other and you have to explain it to someone who thinks microsoft word is a website in 3 minutes and at the end they go 'so this is for a game? how does chess fit into this'

this book title kills me bc theres no problem. the reason 'three body problem' is a thing is bc you cant solve the orbits of a system with three bodies analytically, you have to calculate them with numerical methods. two body problems are just. normal orbits. we solved those
