My work is getting noticeably harder and more stressful, with parents quoting RFK Jr and turning down vaccines. I feel bad for them being misled. And put in this weird position where they get care from a system they distrust. It must be terrifying. Also makes me want to retire.

SCOTUS undermining state vaccine requirements reminds me of how the religious exemption was handled in Alabama when I lived there. The health department was gloriously picky-- couldn't be a personal religious view, had to be part of an established religion. Catholics would ask for exemption

I am worried about the lapse in authorization for Medicaid telehealth. My patients live 6 hrs from peds specialists. Travel is especially hard and stressful for families of special needs children, instead of a video call to review labs, xray results, etc.

I got one of those mandatory soc sec phone appt letters for my son's disability. I can't get off work at the arbitrary time they set. I usually call and reschedule to my admin 1/2 day. But this time no one answers. Bc of shutdown OFC. And they will cancel his medicaid if I no show, supposedly.
