There’s only 3 days left to vote in the Green Party leadership election. Most people vote right at the start or right at the end. That means these last few days will decide the outcome. Haven’t voted yet? Do it here: ballot.greenparty.org.uk #BackZack

BBC News just referred to Palestine Action as “a proscribed terror organisation”. Terror organisation.

Agree with that. For me, Frank and Rachel are by far the best communicators. Here’s my vote

Memories are short. We’ve been calling out this genocide for a long time, and been met with the response of “will you condemn Hamas” by the likes of the times. Don’t forget how they have aided this genocide through their reporting

Absolute slop. This is the quality of the journalist class in this country. Autistic people have it hard enough without this constant media narrative of minimising their existence.

Make no mistake, this is a threat to potential rebels for the upcoming release of the SEND white paper, which is rumoured to include substantial cuts in legal protections and provision for children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

Absolute disgrace of a human being Greg Wallace acts an absolute disgrace again, this time by stigmatising autistic people to try and get pity for his disgraceful actions. Autism doesn’t make you act like a prick, that’s his to own.

The SEND white paper will literally be based on the tories paper from 2022. Don’t believe Starmer’s government when they say they are “Change”. There is no consultation or coproduction with SEND families. There is extremely limited input from professionals. apple.news/A6i3tDnj3SdW...

There is a lot of concern that the SEN white paper in the autumn will lead to a lot more of this. We need to be prepared to fight for access to EHCPs and specialist provision for everyone that needs them. www.theargus.co.uk/news/2528088...

You can read the 2024 manifesto which includes how to pay for services. Here’s why you responded to my question by deflecting with a different question: You incorrectly asserted Labour are planning to nationalise water. You can’t link to Labours plans to nationalise rail rolling stock or 1/2

5. Public Ownership of Rail, Water, Energy ➤ Gradual, cost-effective nationalisation as private contracts expire ➤ Long-term savings from ending dividend payouts and profit-taking

1. £15 Minimum Wage ➤ Funded indirectly via increased tax revenues (from higher earnings) and reduced in-work benefits. 2. Rent Controls & Tenants’ Rights ➤ Largely regulatory, with costs covered by expanding local authority powers—not hugely expensive. 1/2

The government’s own modelling revealed a heavy cost before the Winter Fuel Payment rollback: At least 50,000 pensioners were expected to be pushed into absolute poverty (income below 60% of 2010/11 median) in each of the financial years from 2024–25 to 2029–30 due to the cuts.

Pip Burley @pipburley.bsky.social · 02/07/2025
It depends where you live. There are 40 constituencies where the Greens are in second place, and I’d advocate voting Green in those. In Ilford North I’d advocate for the independent that came within 500 votes of unseating Wes Streeting. Which constituency are you in?
110
Pip Burley @pipburley.bsky.social · 02/07/2025
Rachel Reeves didn’t cry over the winter fuel payment cut, pushing pensioners into poverty. She didn’t cry over PIP cuts. She don’t cry over the ongoing genocide in Gaza. She cried over a politician suggesting she would lose her job. Labour are toast. Vote them out.

Pip Burley @pipburley.bsky.social · 02/07/2025
I oppose the proscription of Palestine Action. Labelling a direct action network as terrorism for challenging the UK’s complicity in genocide is a dangerous escalation. You don’t have to agree with every tactic to defend the right to protest. Parliament votes today. Stand against repression.
