CHOKEPOINT. Broadcasting over the air is only practical under regulation. Managed bandwidth allocation is the only way it can work. To that extent rules about how that could be used had teeth. The government could render your radio or tv broadcast unusable w/o a license. No way to do that any longer

1st ammendment or not, there is no technical chokepoint now (cable & internet) as there was with broadcasting over the air. Rules are pointless if you can't enforce them.

And the FCC only had the power to enforce its regulations because over-the-air broadcasting required bandwidth allocation to work. This became obsolete with cable (and of course the internet.)

Ultimately the only recourse is impeachment (or censure). They should do this as soon as they have the votes. But I think we have already demonstrated that nothing short of impeachment/removal will stop Trump, particularly now that he has corrupted the Justice Dept.
