Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Ooo I grew up with that same view (well, a bit back from there). Never get tired of it. 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024Hey thanks for all your hard work - hope you manage to get a good Xmas 110
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024I'm feeling better than I did but still wheezy and pale and pathetic 😁 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024For some reason that looks really... spidery 120
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024Oh I wouldn't like the body blanket pile. What happens in the middle of the night right if you open your eyes and there's a white face peering over the side of the top bunk? I've always had bunk bed anxiety. Merry Christmas 1100
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024You see that glass balustrade thing behind the sad knee high Xmas tree? Well the kitchen is right below so I'm lying in bed listening to my 83 year old dad eating a late night mince pie and whistling onward Christian soldiers #winningatlife 2470
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 24/12/2024Ok because I've had the flu from hell and can't stop coughing I've been banished to the study. Next to the clothes dryer of doom plus light with no shade, two cheese strings and a box of trazadone. Oh and there's a sad knee high unlit Xmas tree next to the ubiquitous printer #duvetknowitschristmas 162998
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 29/11/2024That's great to hear - I really struggle with well-being/self care and tend to just react to everything that happens. Being in the moment is something I very rarely achieve - good to see another farmer managing it 120
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Edwin the rescue crow. I can't get close enough to see the problem but he seems very thin 8361
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Oh dear I'm now the owner of a rescue crow. I found him bedraggled and dragging a wing. We're snowed in otherwise id take him to a vet. He's in my sunroom eating cat food and lavishly pooing on my clean washing. Cinders the Magnificent is FASCINATED 4495
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 21/11/2024OMG just won an award at the Northern Pig Awards! @PilgrimUk @BQPPigs Well Steve did but I'm the power behind the throne 😁 He won Growing Farm Stocks person of the Year and best of all WE GOT A CRYSTAL PIG!!! so chuffed for Steve and our piggies 😁😁😁😁 @piggyjags 8553
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 18/11/2024Because the farm has been in our family for four generations. I know every inch of it, the wildlife and adore living here. 110
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 18/11/2024We didn't vote for Brexit. And we're a small family farm which will be hammered by the tax. Just because the land has a monetary value doesn't mean that it's in our bank accounts. My kids are on free school meals 🤷 210
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 18/11/2024Bloody freezing here Sally - hard frost this morning and just waiting for snow! 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 18/11/2024Such a good book - absolutely perfect for reading on a winter afternoon. I was walking in the woods on our farm today hoping I didn't meet Owd Hob 😬 000
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024So glad to find you on here - I need my regular fix of Tudor history! 000
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024These two at the moment - I've always loved @levgrossman.bsky.social after his Magicians series - such a good writer. And I've just finished Withered Hill by @davidbarnettuk.bsky.social - great folk horror - read it in a day! 030
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024Beautiful. I'm still in bed clutching a cup of tea 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024😁 I've now eaten the other leg so it resembles a potato 020
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Gosh I've not seen your posts on Twitter for years it seems. Glad to see you're over here 120
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024For me, it's people who constantly clear their throat. Loudly. I have no idea why but it makes me grit my teeth. 050
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Good for you - you sound very brave! Sending lots of healing thoughts - I'm currently looking at an 8hh driving Shetland on Dragon driving and wondering if my husband would notice if it appeared on our farm. Accidentally. 110
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024No I haven't? I'll have to look it up. I'd love to have pigs in there but because we have 1000 finishing piglets we're not allowed to have any others on the farm due to infection risk. 100
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Ohhhhh hang on just reread it and it was a pair of amateur archeologists. Now desperate to find out which BIT of the rivet they found it in 😁 000
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024This is my home town - I'm desperate to know WHO in the village found it in the river and if I can have a go at searching for more stuff in my Aldi wetsuit... 100
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024I've discovered that I don't bounce anymore - do you ever feel nervous when you get back on? I've completely lost my nerve after a nasty fall a couple of years ago 100
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024I would love to - mind you we have Cheviots that are master escapers...will let you know how they get on. 110
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Throw back to Cabbage the Lamb - he had bulgy eyes and a fleece that was two sizes too big for him. He's now no longer wrinkly but huge and handsome and living his best life tupping his wives up in the wild and woolly uplands of Northumberland (well, Alnwick)... 2643
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Ummmm....honestly? Not really 😬 It's kind of a bit too gingery 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024No, we don't - it's too expensive for us at the moment to afford the fencing and we've got 150 ac of grazing already. We have thinned out the wood a little which has made a big difference. You can see the trees have been pollarded in the past. I'd love to have pigs in there. 110
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024We have a 10 acre wood - it was founded 1840 (we think) so not very old at all. So not much hazel and only a few youngish oak. Plenty of holly and sycamore and ash though. No yew sadly. The oldest tree on our farm is a gigantic ash (I think - I must measure it's trunk) 120
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Absolutely...they either just see us as cattle or are completely malevolent 120
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024I completely agree - I see them as dangerous and negative - they can wreck people's lives 010
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Inspired to make Christmas gingerbread this afternoon. Nailed it 7474
Sally Urwin @pintsizedfarmer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Yes that's us - cafe unfortunately closed now xx 010
