I have a couple of fixes I am working on, but I want to have at least 2 weeks without issues before I even attempt coming back. Even though I'm not streaming, I still want to help foster spaces that are safe and inclusive for everybody, regardless of background.

So, back of the napkin maths... That's about 2000 matches. if we're generous and say 10 minutes a match, 20000 minutes. I'm too angry to do large numbers, so let's call it 300 hours. £90 over 300 hours... Your time to grind is being valued at 30p an hour. THAT IS ABSURD!

If you were to gain that through playing within the career alone, you're looking at 2000+ matches... and a lot of those will be repeats, I ran into a wall 10 matches in ON THE EASIEST DIFFICULTY before looking at upgrading stats. Or... you pay £90 / $100 and you can upgrade to your heart's content.

So imagine my surprise when suddenly it charges for stat increases. For reference, there are 21 stats in this game. Each single stat point costs "VC" and scales. Moving a stat from 10-11 costs much less than 94-95. Online estimates put the total cost for maxing out a character at 350k-450k VC

And it's not even like it's open about it. From the start you generate a character and it asks you to assign stat points until you reach a skill rating of 99 Overall. The game then has the gall to show an XP progress bar associated, making you think "Oh ok, I need to level up, that's fine"

I'm sorry, but requiring a currency that you get PITTANCE for playing the actual game and charge REAL MONEY for any meaningful amount in order to keep up with the NPCs in A SINGLE PLAYER MODE is some of the most blatant predatory rubbish I've seen in PC gaming. DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING!

Rant time: The first time in a while I've genuinely uninstalled a game out of sheer rage. Playing the single player career mode of NBA 2K26, get a "level-up" and go to change my attributes. Turns out you need the game's freemium currency to boost your stats, XP only raises your skill ceiling.

Yes and works for certain systems and groups. If you're with a bunch of theatre kids playing Fate or Strange Place; yes and is usually the order of the day... Whereas If you're playing dark heresy with wargamers, probably not I'll always try to say yes, sometimes the and will be a but though.
