Oh I have already emailed our IT department an explanation of how this compares to current NIST guidelines

Cynthia Taylor @pinkhairedcyn.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

TL;DR no wonder we keep getting hacked when this is what we're telling people about passwords.

020

Cynthia Taylor @pinkhairedcyn.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I would say that statement 4 is the only one of those statements I'd answer the same way they do without any caveats. Also throughout the training they keep referring to 8 letters as a strong password length.

Cynthia Taylor @pinkhairedcyn.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

4. For stronger passwords, it’s best to use a single word instead of a phrase. (False) 5. Combining nonsense words with number-letter substitutions is a good way to create complex passwords. (True)

200

Cynthia Taylor @pinkhairedcyn.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

The final assessment for this, with their answers: 1. You don’t need to change your passwords. (False) 2. A strong password should contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. (True) 3. An important part of password safety is to not write passwords down. (True)

Okay, seriously, did the script kiddies write this training?

Doing a password safety webinar and so far it is giving advice so bad I feel like it might be some sort of long con?

Letter from @pinkhairedcyn.bsky.social (posted with permission) to our Congressman.

Dear Congressman Latta,

Dude, no one wants this. We just got out of a forever war in the middle east like four years ago. This is going to be expensive, it does not help the US in any way, and we should not be murdering people just because they live in countries with oil.

I googled it, and it turns out only congress is able to declare war. Dude, that's you! So please do your job and get us out of this.

Best, Cynthia

What Vance is doing here is ENORMOUS disinformation. International students at the undergrad level typically pay full tuition, which subsidizes tuition for American students on financial aid by keeping tuition costs lower. At the grad level, domestic students are harder to recruit!

1. Incredible ruling! An Ohio appeals court has ruled that trans care is healthcare, strikes down youth trans care ban! It made the ruling using the Republican-passed "health care freedom amendment" meant to overturn Obamacare! Subscribe to support my journalism. You'll want to read this one.

Ohio Appeals Court Rules Trans Care Is Healthcare, Strikes Down Ban For Trans Youth

The ruling was in part based on a 2011 Amendment in the state guaranteeing healthcare freedom, originally meant to challenge Obamacare.

There’s a “death before detrans” sticker on a bollard just outside my office building. I see it and think about it every day when I come to work. I think it’s important and I’m glad whoever put it up did so.

Tonight I received four identical response emails from the office of Senator Bernie Moreno, which is not actually making me feel like he is “committed to listening to my concerns and ensuring that my voice is heard in Washington”

4 identical form emails from the office of Bernie Moreno. They say “Dear Prof. Taylor,

Thank you for reaching out to my office and sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is invaluable as we work together to address the issues that matter most to Ohio. We meet with constituents every day in Washington, D.C., and it is the best part of my day.

I ran for office because I was tired of career politicians that cared only about getting reelected. I understand I work for you. It is one of the greatest honors of my life to represent Ohio and I work very hard every day to do the best job I possibly can.

I am committed to listening to your concerns and ensuring that your voice is heard in Washington. Every message I receive helps me better understand the needs and priorities of our constituents. We may not always agree, but I want you to know that I respect your passion, your point of view, and your desire to make our great country even better.

If you need assistance with a federal issue or agency that you feel my office can address, please reach out to my casework team. They can be reached at casework@moreno.senate.gov. You won’t find a more dedicated group to help you with anything from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the Social Security Administration to the Passport Agency.

Again, thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,

Bernie Moreno
United States Senator “
