I love me a good duck. I haven’t been to the park in awhile to hang out with my duck friends cause the last time I was there Penny and I got attacked by a bigger dog (no injuries she’s okay) and I’ve been to anxious to go back. Maybe I will try this weekend.

A small snip from my WIP soul bargain’s spinoff. Aran and oikawa bestie agenda and Ushioi looming.

Ojiro plucks the tankard from Oikawa’s hand with a disapproving look. “You’ve had enough.”

“It’s only my third one.” Oikawa slurs, but only slightly, he’s not drunk, not yet. Not like he wants to be.

“Oh I stand corrected. You’ve had too much.”

Oikawa reaches for the mead only for Ojiro to slide it down the bar top far out of reach. His lip juts out in a barely there pout.

“You. Are. No. Fun.” He punctuates each word with a poke to Ojiro’s firm chest.

If he is going to have the night he had planned then he needs his friend distracted or at least out of responsible mode. He could start a fight, but no, that would probably ruin the night. His eyes settle on the petite woman behind the counter. Her eyes keep darting toward Ojiro and she bites her lip slightly. Maybe she could be the distraction.

“You do realize the barkeep fancies you, don’t you?”

Does she now?” Ojiro’s voice is impossibly soft almost contemplative as his gaze drifts to the woman as she fills another tankard.

Oikawa’s eyebrows raise impossibly high. Well that is unexpected. He smiles to himself. Proud. Perhaps he would be getting soused after all.

“Excuse me,” Ojiro calls to the Barkeep. She turns to him her eyes widen slightly and a blush spreads across her cheeks.

“What can I do for you, handsome?”

An easy smile crosses Ojiro’s lips, “Don’t serve him anymore tonight.” He points to Oikawa, “I’m cutting him off.”

“What!?” Oikawa squawks in indignation.

She glances between the pair but gives a brief nod, and a seductive smile, “Anything for you.”

“Thank you darlin’” Ojiro turns his back to her and leans against the counter, missing how her cheeks turn a dark crimson and she fans herself before returning to her duties.

“I can’t believe you.” Oikawa mumbles. “Here I thought, that for once you were going to loosen up and have a little fun.”

Ojiro crosses his arms over his chest, his lips part to retort but instead he frowns, his fingers grip his bicep, and his eyes narrow.

Curious Oikawa follows his gaze to the front of the tavern where the patrons are parting to make room for the newcomer.
