Some proper coastal fieldwork on the UK Dinosaur Isle this week studying the fossil rich sediments of the Wessex formation! Thanks to Gary Nichols, @tweetisaurus.bsky.social @valdosaurus.bsky.social and the lovely staff at the Dinosaur Isle Museum in Sandown for the collaboration and hospitality 🦖!

As always there were a lot of cultural experiences along the way, including couscous Friday, unique approaches to transporting livestock, our first meal of sheep brains & liver, and the inevitable speeding fines. Morocco is an amazing country. If you haven't visited you really should.

An enforced break for us today because heavy rain is preventing us from getting into the quarry. We've got some nice material out over the past few days

We're back in Morocco for more fun in the Middle Jurassic. There's been a lot of digging since we were last here: a lot of specimens lost to science and Morocco. But we are still optimistic about finding some amazing new dinos @richardjbutler.bsky.social

🚨 New job! Last week was my first week as a Marie Curie Postdoc @nhm-london.bsky.social 🇬🇧. Thanks to @tweetisaurus.bsky.social for the terrific start! I’m now diving into my #MSCA 'MORBID' project, where I’ll be using cutting-edge #geochemistry to explore how Mesozoic bonebeds formed, more soon 🦕😀!

🦕 Did you know that #dinosaurs were ecosystem engineers? When they were wiped out from Earth's surface by the #Chicxulub impact, the river landscapes of North America dramatically changed as well! Happy to see this paper out in which I played a small part, brilliantly led by Luke Weaver @umich.edu 👇

💥🦖66 million years ago, an #asteroid hit Earth, ending the age of #dinosaurs. ⏳But what happened in the minutes, hours, and years after impact? 🚨Our new @agu.org G-Cubed study uses ultra-high-res #geochemistry to find out. Check it out here: 🧵👇 🔗 doi.org/10.1029/2024... @amgc-vub.bsky.social
