Pig 1 and Pig 2 were purchased from a breeder by an individual that did not want to see them sold for meat. After giving them a home for two years, the rescuer was forced to move, meaning she had to find a new home for these two pigs.

This statue sits on our sanctuary property as a memorial to all pigs who never had the opportunity to live a peaceful life. Weighing 1,300 lbs and custom made by the Amish, we named it "Lucky" as a tribute to a "factory farm pig" we saved and gave a home to before he passed away. ❤️🐷

Just how important is straw for pigs? Last winter we had a morning where it was -3ºF! That is quite cold! But we stuffed all of our pigs shelters full of straw (which serves as a natural insulator), and everyone stayed nice, warm, and safe. (2/3)
