Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I don’t understand why everyone drunk from the De Zerbi cool aid. He was crap at Marseille and his tactics, while innovative when he first came to the PL are now old news 040 4
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I don’t think he’s being serious (but these days you never know) but I’m convinced that Utd can’t win the league again until every living person can’t remember Ferguson’s Utd teams 011 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/09/2026O agreement. As you said, it puts the onus on the managers to challenge decisions rather than moan. They can’t go into a press conference and complain about the ref because, “well why didn’t you challenge the decision?” would be put back at them. It’s not a perfect solution but it’s better 110 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Yea I see that. I think the game is delayed enough anyway so I can’t see challenges adding to that significantly. For example, it took ages for VAR to go through the City goal but if Carrick can challenge it and say “Enzo is interfering”, we may actually get to the right call 020 2
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/09/2026There are also only one or two of these big calls a game so even if a manager had say 3 challenges, he’d only have to use 1 or 2 to force that a decision is checked. And if a manager doesn’t challenge a tight decision the focus will be on him rather than the ref 100 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 13/09/2026This is spot on. The longer VAR is in place I also think the challenge system like in tennis becomes more compelling. Utd would have challenged the decision today and forced the ref to review. Gives the ref the chance to review his decision rather than some bloke in a booth 251 5
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I honestly think it was the worst possible pick. Aoife and Donal already have heat on them so leave them be and the group will presume one of Denis, Sam or Ian was recruited so eyes will be on them. Just pick someone else left from the remaining group #TraitorsIRL 141 4

Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Pretty sure @theweeklyplanet.bsky.social called this like 6 years ago 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 27/07/2026Morning guys. There is always talk of Arsenal needing to be better sellers but how do we go about that practically? Do we need to sell some of our better players earlier rather than the likes of Jesus, Veira, Nelson etc or do we need to drive a harder bargain over selling price? #arsecastextra 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 15/07/2026I firmly believe that Pickford, more than his ability as a goalkeeper, doesn’t have the mentality to succeed at a big club or thrive in big games 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 15/07/2026RTE commentator just said, “Mick Jagger, can’t get no…….goal number 2”. Jesus 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Maresca obviously has something about him but I wonder if the players will relax a little after the intensity of Pep and that will have a negative effect but lets see! I'd put the majority of our funds into LW (Barcola plz) and a midfielder. I like Bruno but don't want it to turn into a saga 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Good point. I almost forgot Liverpool won the league in 24/25 so 2 years without a league title for City is a major deal which they are trying to course correct with spending. Spending with Pep as manager is different to Maresca so interesting to see how they get on 110 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Do you think that factors into City's thinking Phil? They can afford to just throw money around and if a consequence of that is making the market harder for their PL rivals all the better. Or would that not come into the equation at all? 100 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Hi guys. Unless Argentina win the World Cup, we will have players in our squad who have won it. Do you have any worries that those players will suffer the come down effect that Ozil and Per felt post 2014 or, is it a huge positive for those players individually and for our squad? #arsecastextra 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 12/07/2026If Kane didn’t complain about literally every decision then maybe the refs might take him seriously 000 0

Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Hey guys. It's well documented that Arteta tends to make decisions on upcoming seasons based on what happened the previous season. Given this, do you think there is any danger that now he has won the PL and we are champions, he fixates on winning the CL at the expense of the PL? #arsecastextra 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 01/07/2026It is genuinely one of life’s great mysteries how Pickford has so many caps for England 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 01/07/2026I personally feel like that money is much better spent on someone like Barcola. It means we can keep Ethan and develop him whilst having two experienced and proven options in that position. The LW option is the one we need to most obviously upgrade so majority of funds should be spent there imo. 040 4
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Don’t know if anyone is watching on RTE but I’ve had to mute the commentary. They’re talking about Shakira and Metallica as if they’re isn’t a game happening that they are meant to provide insight on 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 20/05/2026The main joy is for ourselves, our people, the team, manager etc but a great off shoot of winning is causing misery for others. We've had to take it for years and we held and waited and kept quiet but now we get to give it all back without repercussion and the fact the players are doing it as well! 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 19/05/2026This isn't great but this is probably the best version of Bournemouth they've faced, in the best form, away from home, with minimal rest, lots of pressure and we don't know how the Pep news will effect City so I'm cautiously optimistic 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 18/05/2026That was disgusting but nonetheless….1 game to go! #COYG 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Goodly morning guys. In past seasons we won more "big games" against "top six" sides than this season but this one will likely be more successful. Do you put this down to a change of approach from us, maybe focusing more on beating the other teams or is it just a quirk of this season? #arsecastextra 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Had to calm down before tuning in and just started and now I’m in bits. Thanks Elliot 💔 110 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Shame to give Bezoz my money but Prime’s coverage is good and they want the English team to win which gives the coverage a welcome slant given every-time I turn into SKY they’re praying to all the Gods that we lose 020 2
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 04/05/2026He’s bringing up a Nasri goal for City against Sunderland that absolutely no one remembers to justify this being a good result for City. Bizzare 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 04/05/2026I switched off when City scored I will absolutely not be turning it back on until FT 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Granted Joe Hart was a big player for City for a number of years but pundits who had a ok - good career with a club that was middling but got an injection of cash after they retired suddenly become attached to that club. I notice it a lot with Lescott and City. It makes them more relevant 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 26/04/2026Morning gents. Given Kai is likely to be out for a few games at least, would you default to playing Gyokeres up front now despite his limitations and seeming negative affect on our overall play or, try another, untested option akin to Merino last year? Or Jesus? #arsecastextra 000 0
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 25/04/2026I take no pleasure in saying it but one of the worst technical players I’ve seen play for us. I think Bendtner was better 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 19/04/2026Strangely, I feel more confident we’ll win the league now than I did before kick off 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 19/04/2026Weirdly if we were gonna lose, this type of loss was the best one. Gives us significant hope that we can win our games with City have the tougher run in 110 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 15/04/2026Injuries definitely play a part as you said but Arteta has always been a, “you got yourselves into this mess so you can get yourselves out” kind of manger. 010 1
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 15/03/2026We’re all looking at the remaining PL games to see where the league could be won/lost but could it be decided in another competition? If we win the League Cup it imbues this team with confidence and deflates City. If we win the league cup, do we in essence also win the league? #arsecastextra 020 2
Piers Moyles @piersm93.bsky.social · 11/03/2026It’s really hard to get an away result in Europe especially at this point of the season. We got lucky with the PSV draw last season but generally all teams at this stage of the CL are of a high standard and the games are tough 000 0
