A key difference bet today’s US military and the Wehrmacht of 1935-1945: soldiers in Nazi Germany swore an oath to the Leader and were required to follow orders blindly, while American servicemen and women swear an oath to the Constitution and have a duty to question and even disobey #illegalorders.

I didn’t always agree with #DickCheney (especially re torture) but he always stood by his principles & did what he believed would keep America safe, in Congress, DoD & White House.
