He also said this in the book: "Climate change is the Tragedy of the Horizon... imposing a cost on future generations that the current generation has no direct incentive to fix." And is now fast tracking hundreds of billion$ in fossil fuel expansion.

He was the right choice but in no way can I agree that someone with zero political experience is "the most qualified Prime Minister".

In my opinion, anyone whose final straw wasn't: "I moved on her like a bitch" "I just start kissing them... I don't even wait" "Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything" is a piece of shit who thinks a sex predator should be the most powerful man in the world.

And not in one post did I say I expect everyone to buy a solar panel and EV. All I said was the government should be incentivizing it, or at the very least stop putting roadblocks between Canadians and clean energy.

Nope but will definitely check it out, thanks for sharing. If you haven't seen Climate Town its an odd mix of climate science and comedy. This video outlines how SUVs exist only to maximize profit through more dangerous, less efficient, higher emission vehicles. youtu.be/JPm4de6-eTg?...

Because we haven't updated our standards. They are legal in the EU. And Chinese EVs have been banned from day 1. We're finally allowing a few of them in, but not enough to make our auto industry improve. Imagine what junk we'd still be driving if we hadn't let Japan into our market.

I don't blame you for not addressing the whole "government shouldn't legalize balcony solar until every Canadian can afford it" argument. It's OK to admit that all of your counterpoints were nonsense that completely ignored the point l was making. Everyone makes mistakes.

Samesies. They're just business now. There's no teams any more (core players together for several years). Players are just commodities traded on a whim. Ads everywhere, including the jerseys. You can't even tell who is playing cause every other game they have a new jersey design to sell.

I never said I expected EVERYONE to by a $500 solar panel. By your logic, if EVERY Canadian can't afford a product then our government should ban it. Many cell phones cost over $500. Do you think the government should ban them?

Real emissions regulations would help. Why all the SUVs? Its because the automotive industry classify them as "non-passenger work vehicles" which lets them put less efficient engines in them that burn more gas and pollute more. 5-8 seats = non passenger?!? www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPm4...

Redirecting the hundreds of billions in tax breaks and subsidies to the fossil fuel industry into charging infrastructure and EV rebates would be a great start. Or how about our government ends it's ban on EV imports? China has the best and cheapest EVs in the world.

Pierre Poutine @pierre-poutine.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Corporations are the problem.GM built an EV in the 80s but as soon as their lobbyists defeat the emissions regulations they crushed them up into cubes and buried the patents setting back EV development decades. How is that my fault? Our government is what stands between us and corporations.

No one is saying we should ban all fossil fuels. The least we could do is stop setting them on fire or using them to manufacture products we don't even use. This is a bitumen pipeline, more than 80% of bitumen is used as a single use fuel to be burned, not to make products.

We could start by investing in clean energy instead of $40B donations to the fossil fuel industry. Solar, wind, and hydro aren't just clean, they are the cheapest energy. Last year China built more solar AND wind output than every other country...combined...times 2. Meanwhile we do this:

It's not just private equity. Only the Canadian taxpayer would accept a $2B annual return on a $34B investment. Especially since those returns aren't guaranteed. The war in the middle east has temporarily increased profit but its driving the rest of the world toward clean energy.

Pierre Poutine @pierre-poutine.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
How does a $40B taxpayer donation to the fossil fuel industry make us more prosperous? How can a supposed economic genius not give us a number? All we get is a sound bite. "...the Canadian taxpayer will make a lot of money." Which taxpayers? How much money? When will we break even on our investment?
010
Pierre Poutine @pierre-poutine.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
If pipelines were profitable the fossil fuel industry would pay for them. The Transmountain Expansion ended up costing 5 times what they told us and will take another 30+ years before we break even. Spending $40B to make $1B is not "making a lot of money".

How many of then NEED to be made from fossil fuels? Look at our clothing. Most of our clothing now has petroleum products in it. What was wrong with natural fibers? We have enough for clothing for everyone on the planet 6x over yet every day we make more clothing than any time in human history.

The environmentalists have always known the truth. It's everyone else who needs to pay attention and learn the science. You can't be against burning coal but support LNG. The science shows LNG is just as bad if not worse than coal. The fossil fuel industry pulled a bait and switch coal for methane.
