5 days until Labor Day! How are you celebrating? In 1919 Tacoma, the parade looked like THIS. Maybe a march is in order for next year? Either way, this year, you can find us at Ft. Steilacoom picnic pavilion at 11:30 AM for a BBQ and solidarity with our union siblings and supporters!

Nearly every month over the last two years, inflation has outpaced wage growth. That means every year you haven't gotten more than a 3-4% raise, you took a pay cut. We’re working harder than ever and taking home less and less for our labor. Just one reason why we need unions! #BetterInAUnion

🧑🏻‍🍳 Albertsons bakery workers deserve the same fair treatment their union coworkers have already won. After more than a year at the bargaining table, they’re still fighting for the contract they deserve. Sign the petition to support at bit.ly/Local9
A recipe-themed advocacy graphic with a yellow striped background and a white recipe card titled "A Fair Contract for BCTGM Local 9." The left side lists the "ingredients" for a fair contract: living-wage increases, equal treatment, good faith bargaining, respect for skilled union bakers, and community solidarity. The right side features blue illustrations of baking ingredients and tools, including milk, flour, eggs, sugar, syrup, a whisk, and mixing bowls. Below, "Instructions" encourage viewers to scan the QR code or visit bit.ly/Local9, share the petition with friends and family, and keep the pressure on Albertsons. At the bottom, the graphic reads, "Every great recipe starts with the right ingredients. Working people built this economy, and working people deserve power in shaping what comes next. A future that values dignity, transparency, safety, and shared prosperity will only happen if workers organize for it together.
Graphic with a teal background and a centered white text box featuring a quote from AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. The quote states that workers are at a critical turning point for the economy and will organize through the 2026 midterms and beyond to protect their rights and fight for a “human-made” future.

When it comes to protecting workers from the harms of AI, working people trust unions more than employers or either political party. That trust comes from generations of organizing for safety, dignity, transparency, and a voice on the job.
Graphic over a blurred image of workers sitting indoors. Large text reads: “Labor unions are the most trusted institution to protect workers from potential harms of AI.” Below is a bar chart showing labor unions with the highest level of trust among workers, ahead of Democrats, Republicans, employers, “none of these,” and “don’t know.”

AI is already changing workplaces, but too many workers are being left in the dark.
Graphic over a blurred image of a worker holding a smartphone at a desk. Large text reads: “Workers say their employers aren’t telling them how AI is being used to monitor their work.” Smaller text states that only 7% of workers say their employer has disclosed how or when AI is monitoring their work, while 94% say workers should know if AI is being used to monitor them.

We’re demanding technology that works for people. New polling shows overwhelming support for a pro-worker AI agenda: human oversight on employment decisions, access to training and education, protections against misinformation, and real guardrails in the workplace.
Graphic titled “Pro-Worker AI Agenda” over a blurred office background. A white text box lists worker-supported AI protections with support percentages: requiring a human to make final employment-related decisions (95%), guaranteeing workers access to training and educational programs (94%), fighting AI-driven misinformation (94%), and advancing guardrails against harmful workplace uses of AI (92%).

US workers overwhelmingly support union-backed policies on AI. The @aflcio in-depth polling of workers’ sentiments toward AI comes as workers have increasingly been seeking and securing protections through collective bargaining agreements on how AI is used in the workplace. #BetterInAUnion
