Beautiful words, my man
That’s why I fucking curse, and that’s why I refuse to “moderate my language.” I am fucking mad. I am so fucking mad, sad, angry, and enraged at the actions of the elite and the hateful reality they’ve structured; that the only honest way to express my emotions is to wave a giant neon hatecock in the face of these hypocritical lying shitmongers. I don’t care if they hear me – they would never care, even if I was “respectable.” But they can’t fucking ignore me.

Bleak.
The rise of surveillance-driven business models pushed firms toward increasingly quantitative forms of “user profiling.” The focus shifted from designing tools to help us get work done to extracting patterns that served corporate goals. We ceased to be seen as people with needs and instead became raw material for metrics, models, and market dominance.

Devastating and not at all surprising.
But Leibowitz learned what happens when you try to engage with this supposed scientific concern in good faith. No matter how careful his approach, no matter how thoroughly he explained the research, no matter how many safeguards were put in place, it wasn't enough. Because the goal was never to improve care or protect children — it was to eliminate transgender people from public life entirely.

Right on.
In the Who Cares Era, the most radical thing you can do is care.

In a moment where machines churn out mediocrity, make something yourself. Make it imperfect. Make it rough. Just make it.

Serious “how much time do you want for your progress?” vibes
Despite the much-publicized attacks on her by congressional Republicans and the rampant transphobia displayed by some members, she said that behind the scenes, nearly all of her colleagues treat her with respect. She knows that most of them wouldn’t back nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people, but in that moment of interaction, that’s beside the point. In order for our country to move forward, she said, we have to be willing to work with the people we disagree with.

🤍
All around the world, in nearly every culture and throughout history, people have venerated their ancestors by passing on their names and telling their stories. What is remembered lives, the adage goes. I experience this viscerally. Having spent much of my life mourning the loss of vibrant friends, mentors, community members, and even enemies, it’s no wonder why I have dedicated myself to a practice of ancestral veneration. Nearly all of my friends are dead, but in me their stories live.
