A new departure for me as I will be co-supervising this PhD in partnership with my postgrad alma mater, UCL Department of Information Studies! If you know anyone who might be interested, please pass it on; the deadline is fairly tight....

Here is a nice thing for #Christmas from our collections at @efdss.bsky.social: a copy of #VaughanWilliams Fantasia on Christmas Carols, with a personal dedication from the composer to #CecilSharp. It also features one of Sharp’s rather lovely personal book plates.

Asking nicely.... We're raising money to catalogue three important collections, those of Cyril Tawney, Roy Judge and John Earl. There is so much here for #folk researchers, and currently it's undiscoverable! You have one week so don't delay!

A journal article by *me*, with colleagues from UEA & Sheffield, is out today in Music & Minorities! We discuss #Romani singers & folk song in England, & how one might open up an archive (specifically @efdss.bsky.social) to reveal it. Open access, here! mm.journals.qucosa.de/mm/article/v...

Give this amazing orchestra (in which I happen to play) a follow! They do such inventive and unusual programmes; this one was a flautist's dream....
