Very interesting moth found on the wall this morning. Quite a way from the trap. Apparently it is Sorcerer and possibly is the 5th British record.

Unringed Osprey fishing at Lodmoor this afternoon. It caused a panic among the waders and gulls and one brave lapwing persisted in mobbing it.

They are still around , the fascinating Hummingbird Hawk-moth. This photo taken on Monday in the garden. Salvia a very popular nectar source for them

An assortment of images taken from the BoPH Osprey Cruise today. Great to see the Glossy Ibis who have only just started visiting this area. We had sightings of around 5 Ospreys and another bird fairly new to the harbour Great White Egret

Last nights moth trap held among many moths a Langmaid’s Yellow Underwing probably a migrant and a Lobster Moth new for the garden( named after the appearance of its larva)

At Durlston this morning these Tawny Owl chicks were dozing in the trees. Not the prettiest of chicks but great to see them

Last night a good night for migrant moths. Amongst them were a Bordered Straw and Eastern Bordered Straw plus another more rare migrant , a Ni Moth

Small Marbled in my moth trap this morning. Only other migrants were 22 Small Mottled Willow and a few Diamond Backs

It was an adder and ibis day in Wareham for me today. After seeing 3 adders on a sunny day , I couldn’t resist a second look at the 10 beautiful Glossy Ibis.
