My stray 'Stache crossed 🌈 yesterday due to a tragic accident. She'd been living the stray life for yrs round the house & I'd only been caring for her since last fall. Dearheart, I hope you didn't suffer & that I made your last year a little better than it may've been. My heart's torn asunder. 😭
Last good picturei have of my dear 'Stache. She was a black and white Tuxedo cat with two distinct white marks giving the appearance of a moustache. She was a tough queen that relished the stray life and only occasional came inside for feedings and catnip rubs. She passed over the rainbow bridge yesterday due to a tragic accident. My heart is torn asunder. Rest well dearheart... behind the mimosa that means so much to me and under the magnolia and wisteria; I loved you more than you would let me show.

Litl'un (one of the porch kitties) brought her own little one to the porch for the first time on Friday. They are are taking a #Caturday snooze right now.
Litl'un (the black porch kitty--now cat, lol) is curled up on the front porch with her own "little one" (the light gray kitty.) It is late afternoon on a surprisingly cool May #Caturday. The new Mom only just brought her baby to the porch yesterday.

With the #superbowl & #Olympics, this has to be a record day commercials being broadcast by #NBC. It'd be interesting to know who/what gets pre-empted by a commercial, since that seems to be a part of their production style after watching their opening ceremony shows the past several olympics.

Hope everyone had\is having\will have a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for family, a WFH job, my college education, Medicare, a roof over my head and city utilities. Here's a picture of 'Stache (as in Ms. Moustache) one of the porch kitties recently provided by the Feline Distribution System.

Another #Caturday in the books....here's my new cat-nephew Pinky!
Pinky, an orange tabby kitten newly adopted by my brother and his significant other (she gets the photo credit). Pinky had his first vet visit yesterday. He is on a well used cat tree.

Celebrating this #Caturday with a picture of one my cat-nephews, Pinto! (Picture taken by his human mom.) Also thinking about her long-time companion Maggie 🌈 who crossed recently.
A young male ginger cat, named Pinto, stretching his front legs toward his human mom, who is taking his picture.

My bro rescued a baby corn snake from a sticky trap this morn w\veg oil & Dawn soap. I know sticky traps are inhumane, but the mice problem last winter got bad; they kept avoiding the no-kill traps. Don't use poison cause of pet\outdoor predators. Local outdoor cats are too old to be effective.
Young corn snake before being released back into the yard. It had unfortunately found itself inside the house and was captured by a sticky trap. It was docile during the process of using edible oil to release from the glue and Dawn detergent to clean it up, and was soon on its way in the front yard bushes--hopefully to help protect the house from future pests. Sticky traps are inhumane, but the mice last winter kept avoiding the peanut butter-baited no-kill traps, and the last resort sticky traps worked very well. Don't use poison because of a pet and the chance of outdoor predators eating a poisoned rodent. Wish the mice would decide to stay outside! Also our outdoor neighborhood cats are getting too old to be very effective mousers; need a new generation!

This is Oskie. She is my older brother's 10 ½ yr old white boxer. Oskie's been an exceptional companion for my brother! #boxer #dog

A brother & I have done a bit of tie\ice dyeing this summer; here's a 46 x 82 in. "quilt" from some of the bandanas that didn't come out as well as others. It's poorly constructed (with very little actual quilting) with a flannel backing, but it works, lol. I've a cheap machine and minimal skill.
Simple (poorly constructed, lol) twin bed-sized coverlet made from squares cut from tie\ice dyed bandanas and pre-cut black strips (honey bun roll of fabric). It is backed with solid denim colored flannel with a thin dark gray edge binding.

This is Vader, one of my brother's cats. He's quite a sturdy guy! He sent me this photo today.
