sorry to sound bitter! i kinda am. but i want to be less so, and i think that's a major step towards un-withdrawing. i've let people who care less about me and more about my capacity to make them feel good/better control my mental health for too long and it's affecting my actual GOOD relationships.

in my "fotts needs things" arc i'm very burnt out on being endlessly supportive and encouraging. i know how badly some people need and deserve that. too many folks hone in really hard on how i can enrich their own life or what i can provide for them, but don't think about me outside of that.

you don't have to lie about liking something to be supportive, for what it's worth! i've just heard friends afraid to be vocal about their passions because someone else couldn't help but vocalize their apathy about it in response. that really sucks hahaha words have more power that many realize
