My youngest daughter has just started her senior year of high school. My oldest daughter has started her junior year of college. Sandy Hook happened when my oldest was in 2nd grade. I never thought that one of my biggest fears as a parent would be sending my kids to fucking school.

Trekkies, if you see this, post your first experience with STAR TREK. I was 20 y/o and estranged from my family at the time that DS9 premiered. I had heard about a new show with a Black commander. I started watching and I was enthralled by the loving relationship between Sisko and Jake.

We have had some amazingly beautiful weather this summer, almost unbelievable really. I worked in Cameron Park today and took a walk around this lake, just soaking up this goodness while it lasts.
