I have to say bluesky has not been the best experience with respect to visual arts. For ethical reasons, I really want it to work. But it’s depressing getting followed, then looking through their feed to see they’re just another (m)eh eye bro looking for source material. Might as well be on IG

New blog post: photochronical.studio/this-is-not-... #photography #contemporaryarchaeology Technically, I believe this should be appearing in Bluesky via @ghost.org 6.0 without me having to do this. It does in mastodon. But I’m not seeing my ghost handle pop up when I search for it.

Just testing and working through some techniques for my new project. Going by my current wait time, I’m thinking trying to stack 276 GFX 100 images might go under the “Time consumer” category. It’s an M3 MacBook Pro as well. I might be here for hours. I’ll leave it to see what happens but…

There’s something weird happening with Taka Katsuta. It’s a really shame to see. I really hope this isn’t the last time we see him in #WRC. Whatever the reason for him not showing up to the final stage, the way he’s been talking, it seems absolutely mad to think it’s to do with the car.

The weather is driving me insane. I need to get some work made this week and the only day it’s not supposed to rain is tomorrow. Except that’s when I need to show some work at a crit. Very early start tomorrow I think, see if I can get it done before the working day begins for most folk.

Dammit. Got up early to do some more test shots for my final MA project, but it’s absolute tipping down with rain. After the last few days that’s welcome. But I REALLY need to get these shots done in the next three days.

Drivers who can get in the bin: 1/ drivers who speed up almost imperceptibly as you pass them in the fast lane. 2/ middle lane hoggers 3/ lorry drivers. Just lorry drivers. At my second stop now. One more to go today. Bloody hot already.

On the way home finally. Was on the road at 5am hence the first caffeine of any sort that I’ve had for well over 12 months. Feeling jittery already. Glorious. Car’s nearly charged. Another 4 hours today driving (and charging ) and then 6 hours tomorrow and I’ll be home.
A takeaway coffee cup with “Pret” printed on it. Motorway car park and cafe seats in the background.

11.2 k steps today. Almost entirely in a gallery setting. 10k yesterday. #Exhibition curation is really bloody hard work. I can barely move. Helping present a live online presentation of it tomorrow morning as well so it’s not over yet.
Wristwatch with a step count visible on it saying 11.2k.

Big day today hanging work with the Landings Collective at the Institute of #Photography in Falmouth. My work was the first to go up. Can’t thank Georgia Metaxas and Ian Blyth enough for an amazingly fun day. Still got just under a day’s hanging to go before we go live tomorrow evening.
Two fine art photographic prints on shelves. One of a stargazer Lily and an archival tag and the other of a face mask and archival tag. A photograph of me and Georgia Metaxas in front of my work. Georgia carefully placing my work on ready made shelves.

So I have 2 weeks to produce a proposal that constitutes 20% of my final mark. Given that we have a further six months to produce work that constitutes the next 80%… well it’s feeling pretty intense. First day fully working on it though and I think it’s doable. I need to cancel everything though

Verstappen not fighting that move from Norris at all. He knows that his best chance at the title this year is to encourage the McLarens to fight amongst themselves and take points of each other. #f1

Just spent the evening playing #DoomTheDarkAges. It’s kind of left me flat. It’s much better than eternal imo, but it’s still not a patch on 2016. I just don’t understand the need to overcomplicate *Doom*. They keep doing it though. I’m having *some* fun. But it’s not flowing like Doom should.

Really dangerous of Adrian Formaux to leave his door open as Taka came through the corner there. For a smart lad that was profoundly idiotic. That’s worthy of a fine imo And watching the Marshalls here this stage needs to be stopped. #WRC

Spent two hours at an optician’s today. They were brilliant, but my prescription is so complicated it always takes ages to find a supplier for the lenses and then find frames that can accommodate them properly. It gets pretty tedious. Thank goodness I only do it every couple of years.
