Lucia Sbacco is a PhD student in Phonetics & Phonology at Newcastle University. Her research examines the the sound properties of Italian as a Heritage language by pre-adolescent English speakers born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, and investigates how age of onset and exposure to a heritage language influence the phonological acquisition of complex sounds.

Dr White is a Reader in Speech & Language Sciences in the School of Education, Communication, and Language Sciences at Newcastle University.
