Chances are you know someone like this. Maybe several someones.
Tumblr post by Grouline reads:

"Anyway, in the hopes that I can save just one person from living the horror of my 20s: If you have a friend that seems a little too invested in callouts, I hope you can get out of there safely.

"It's so easy to think to yourself, 'I don't have anything to hide, what do I have to worry about?' but having morals and generally doing your best not to hurt anyone will not save you. You can never be good or pure enough for these people. The target is constantly shifting, and if they cannot find dirt on you, they will change gears and tighten the circle of acceptable behaviors until you fit their new description of a threat. You are fully disposable to them, and they are waiting to take the shot. Don't confront them, don't give them the opportunity to DARVO you. Just hit the bricks. The peace will be worth it."

The Nomad update for #EliteDangerous is overall in bad shape. Fleet carrier jumps are as likely to fail as to work. All my colonies are listed as "previously established systems." I've heard reports that Powerplay and the Background Simulation are broken. But hey, how 'bout that Nomad? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Know your limits! If you haven't stepped up to at least a Type-9, you probably shouldn't take on a Tier 2 or Tier 3 primary starport. The Panther Clipper Mk. II is the undisputed king of heavy hauling, but a properly equipped model will set you back several hundred million credits.

Sometimes your carrier parking spot just sucks. If you find yourself on the opposite side of a planet from a construction site, try jumping your carrier to the same planet again. You might end up with a better position.

Fleet carriers and squadron carriers are worth their weight in gold. Yes, you're moving cargo twice instead of moving it once, but moving it twice across a few thousand kilometers is an order of magnitude faster than moving it across light-seconds.

A little trick I use to make primary port construction in #EliteDangerous more efficient is to always get the Close Side™ of the colonization ship. If at first you don't get a bay on the side facing you, ask again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

And *this* paragraph is just ridiculous. "We have greater freedom than ever before to become whom we want and to date whom we want"? Who's "we," madam? Do you have a cisgender mouse in your pocket? Because increasingly, members of the LGBTQIA+ community have no such freedom.
An excerpt from a New York Times op-ed reads, "I’m going to go out on a limb and say it: There has still never been a better time in human history to happily and successfully pursue heterosexuality, if that is your thing, as it is mine. As straight Americans, we are in the midst of a period of all-but-unprecedented sexual, social and romantic liberty. We have greater freedom than ever before to become whom we want and to date whom we want. And with that should come an optimism strong enough to render the gender wars irrelevant."
100
Phoenix Blue @phoenixblue.net · 01/06/2026
They've since changed the headline of this op-ed by Playboy editor Magdelene Taylor to read, "There's nothing wrong with wanting men." But let's be clear, it's not heterosexuality that's the problem, it's masculinity. Taylor gets *so* close to reaching the point and then ... whiffs it.
An excerpt from a New York Times commentary reads: "Heteropessimism is, at bottom, little more than a bad mood about the state of being straight. It is the pervasive sense that heterosexuality is fundamentally flawed and unfulfilling — even structurally unsalvageable. Sometimes, heteropessimists argue that it’s not strictly heterosexuality that is unfulfilling but the opposite gender itself. As Mr. Seresin noted, heteropessimism tends to involve “a heavy focus on men as the root of the problem.” Heteropessimism is the depressing feeling that the relationships humans have been having for thousands of years are now in a state of total disrepair, and that we are only setting ourselves up for disappointment in attempting to buy in at all. The opposite sex is a trap best avoided."
