After polling folks her and irl, I did a combo of the two favs! Here’s a look at how the physical cover is going. Issue 2 is rolling out on our website phoenixbladecomic.com and substack.com/@phoenixblad... UPDATES EVERY FIRST OF THE MONTH!

Cover of Phoenix Blade Issue 2, with the main character in a lizard clown suit holding a sword in an aggressive manner at the viewer with flames behind

Back cover with sister Rabyn and Ren partying/dancing, tossing a bottle of alcohol between them. And description of the book reads: With the disappearance of the legendary Phoenix, the sun shines over the world no more… especially Rabyn’s world. Part-time circus clown, full-time nuisance, Rabyn yearns to feel as if her life matters, like her sister, Ren - the biggest star in the circus. Criminally underpaid, Rabyn and Ren down have enough money to make it in the cold-blooded land of Gondwana on their own. With no savings, they may have to return home to their crazy mother. Rabyn would do anything to keep that from going back, even if it means stealing from their reptilian ringmaster, Ivy. However, it doesn’t take long for Ivy to realize her money is missing, and for Rabyn to find herself launched into a mission she is entirely unprepared for as she learns the hard way what kind of person her boss really is.

Closer view of front cover. Main character in lizard clown suit holding a sword aggressively at the viewer with flames behind. Title: Phoenix Bald, Issue 2, by Najja Porter and Dashawn Mahone

Thought we'd share what the thumbnail sketches look like. Here's some of the opening pages. Some changes were made between the thumbnails and the final result.
