I’ve never seen anything like him. Does he never talk to experts? After all this time does he really think tariffs are good or just part of the package of destruction? The Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian, Social Security - all the things that make us America -*poof*. I’m stocking up on cat food.

I’m one of those too (old) and have lived in California most of my life. This is the first time I’ve experienced my animals reacting before one hit. I didn’t feel it myself- my house is on bedrock and doesn’t shake much when the earth quakes.

Oooh, so that’s what it was. I had one fatcat on my stomach, a pug snoring next to me. Next thing I know, the pug yelped & tumbled off the bed and fatcat took off with claws. I didn’t feel anything except claws

There’s a story from long ago, when he was around 20: Fred took him to see Mayor Abe Beam to see about a city contract. Soon after the negotiation began DonOld lunged across the desk, grabbed Beam by the shirt yelling ‘You’d better do what we want’. They sent him out to cool off.

John Dean wrote two books that helped me understand how we got here. ‘Conservatives Without a Conscience’ and ‘Authoritarian Nightmare’. He’s generous with his insider knowledge and as appalled as we are about tromp. He’s a good writer, both are well worth your time.
