The real struggle in being vegan doesn't involve food.

The hardest part about being vegan is coming face-to-face with the darker side of humanity and trying to remain hopeful.

It's trying to understand why otherwise good and caring people continue to participate in needless violence against animals - just for the sake of their own pleasure or convenience

Non Vegan: You eat soy you know that has Estrogen right?

Me: You drink Cows milk which you know has mammalian estrogen that actually affects your body whereas the estrogen in soy is phytoestrogen which doesn't affect your body as you aren't a plant.

Why do nonvegans sometimes tell me that I should consider "all sides" of the discussion surrounding veganism?

Newsflash: most vegans weren't born vegan. We KNOW what the "other side" is. We've been there. We changed BECAUSE we considered all sides, and chose the side of justice.

This dude impressively manages to combine an appeal to nature "we're not different to other predators" with human supremacy "don't anthropomorphise animals we are completely different from other animals" with a bonus "animals would eat us and our whole family if given a chance". Nice one mate. 😆

Sorry to break the news but animals have many, many predators- humans are on that list. Farming is an evolution thought up by hunters who thought "there's an easier way to do this".

It's ok for you to have alternative/ anthropomorphic values but they aren't for everyone.

People often ask me if it is difficult to be vegan. I always reply that it is. But it's not giving up animal products that is difficult. Being vegan means that you live among the people who endorse the cause you are fighting against. The most difficult part is that you can't force people to care.

Animal rights philosophy is rooted in respecting others, human or nonhuman. This doesnt mean we believe we're the same as other animals, it means that we acknowledge our differences, but we see that they're morally irrelevant differences. Veganism is inherently anti discrimination.
