I think the main point of it is how obnoxious it is, and how it comes off as a "lazy band-aid fix" from the designers. Good design will guide the player without the players realizing they're being guided.

I used an Akai LPD8 Mk2, the buttons are neat too because I also have those hooked up so that one insta-swaps headphones and speakers, and another allows it to also play through my bluetooth kitchen speakers! Most of the magic comes from Voicemeeter Potato itself. (30 day free trial, $10 min PWYW)
