Quantifying M's timebound goals in regulated speech was useful. More impact: promises outside those calls and documents, independent of a specific enterprise. Like what he said publicly about his DOGE efforts, and its effects on his companies' sales. Or statements/promises vs stock trades.

It's not just automating coordination to flatten orgs. This autocratic-flavored enterprise ambition is to stop renting smarts from human experts (who leave, die, have opinions) and make smarts owned by the company in full. Scales better, keeps improving, doesn't question orders, works weekends.

The bootcamps that train upcoming politicians - candidates, campaign managers, organizers, speechwriters, fundraisers - teach the mechanics of running. An Oliver Camp for Ds would be potent on more than language. A Week With Willis would change the way folks talk and govern.

Negative externalities are no joke. Ask anyone who grew up next to a refinery, in a rustbelt city, downwind of a rocket launch pad, or drinking in Flint. If you could get something before And those natural gas drillers pumped poison into your water table, what would you demand?

So what's the fully loaded cost of using AI (the way you'll want to use it a year from now)? Without the subsidy? Adding in taxes, to cover the externalities?

Phil Wolff @philwolff.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
So the unit economics are pretty well understood by now. Maybe. And the Early Adopter Subsidy is leaving. So what is a fully loaded price? What is the marginal unit cost if we add in all the direct and indirect costs, and throw in negative externalities and some taxes to cover them? $10k/mo? $100?
