I'm impressed with how a Raynox DCR-250 clipped on to a Nikon 24-120mm let's me see the tiny detail in the world around us. This hover fly was kind enough to stay still to let me see those huge compound eyes! #macrophotography #macro #photography #nature #nikon #inesct #uk #insectphotography

I had an overnight visit to London at the weekend, the first in a few years. I managed to get the camera out for a few snaps. It was nice to spend a few hours at the top of The Shard with a few drinks and taking in the view as it got dark. #London #TheShard #city #photography #architecture #night

Hi. The range you pointed out includes Moel Famau and Moel y Parc which were visible further to the left of my pic. You can also make out Tryfan's distinctive shape in my pic as well as the large hump of Carnedd Llewelyn. This shows what can be seen from Everton Brow where the pic was taken.

Eryri o Lerpwl. I'm not a Welsh speaker, but that's simple enough that that should mean 'Eryri (Snowdonia) from Liverpool', right? Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is the first peak on the left about 84km (~52 miles) away. I wonder if there are many Welsh speakers on Bluesky?

It's been a long time since I've done anything astro related that I completely forgot what settings to use when taking something as simple as a widefield shot with my camera. To be fair, I'd also had a few drinks which didn't help. Anyway, it was nice to capture some stars again.
