You know that’s how a lot of seasons go. The lack of a timely hit or a bad defensive play, a bad inning from the bullpen, all those things add up to derail a good season. That’s all it takes.

They tried. The failure of management to get a second reliable reliever basically sunk their season but this team has always been flawed. Big bats, mostly lefties, no one hitting for avg except late addition Arraez, average at best defensively. They need a youth infusion.

I’m sure they’ll dip into the reserves early if the score warrants but you have to put faith in the player and the (gulp) training staff. Same with Jalen Carter but with a cast on his wrist might? It might get used as weapon at some point.
