Apricot, fig, and brown sugar aromas. Stone fruit, sticky buns and some soft clove flavors. It is medium bodied, with prickly carbonation, and some sticky malt sweetness lingering. It’s a really nice after dinner indulgence. Cheers! #bskybeer

Pretty standard annual offering from my local big box. Southern Tier Brewing (Lakewood, NY), Pumking-imperial pumpkin ale (8.6%). Aromas of clove and caramel apple. Caramel apple comes thru in the flavor with cherries on the backend. Body is medium, no significant bitterness. Yum! Cheers! #bskybeer

Hop Trail, WC Pils (5%) from Belching Beaver, Oceanside, CA. Pungent dank hop aroma-almost tropical with a hint of pine. Citrus and pine are prominent hops flavors against a light bread background. Firm bitterness. Delicious! Cheers! #bskybeer
BLAZE YOUR OWN PATH with HOP TRAIL, our crisp and crushable West Coast Pilsner brewed for sun-soaked days and hoppy adventures. This refreshing brew combines the clean, classic snap of a pilsner with a bold, hop-forward punch of cirus, pine, and floral aromas. So crack one open, follow your nose, and hit the Hop Trail.

Just tapped my open-fermented #homebrew saison (7.6%). Base beer has a funky, peppery aroma. Pepper carries thru with lemon flavor. It’s dry with firm bitterness. I thought the lemon might pair well with blueberry extract (pictured). Meh. It’s decent but the base is really nice. Cheers! #bskybeer

Brewery Ommegang Belgian style blonde, Gnommegang, 9.5%. Made w/ Chouffe yeast. Apricot and pepper nose with the pepper carrying through as a major flavor component. Sweet malt and stone fruit contribute. Bitterness is present, balancing the malt. Drinks too easy. Loving the label art! #bskybeer
GNOMMEGANG
BELGIAN-STYLE BLONDE ALE
The mischievous gnomes of Belgian farmstead Brasserie d’Achouffe are at it once again. They dropped by Brewery d’Achouffe and left behind a present of Chouffe yeast for our brewing team, here in Cooperstown NY. Combining their yeast in the primary fermentation, along with our recipe, our brewing techniques, and our yeast in the can conditioning - yields a unique, flavorful and aromatic dose of magic.

Drake’s Brewing: Bold Rush golden ale, 4.8%. Corn and honey aroma followed by bread and corn flavors, a lingering fruity sweetness, and low bitterness. Label says crisp and crushable, but I’m not getting that. It is flavorful! Might be a good intro beer for non-craft drinkers. Cheers! #bskybeer

White Labs rd 2. Traditional Hefe (right) and a Pale Ale made with new suava ale yeast, which is supposed to accentuate dry hops. Wife gave a thumbs up on the Hefe. Beautiful hop aroma on mine but cheesy galaxy hop flavor w something else odd on the backend. Not awful, just not my gig. #bskybeer

At White Labs to pick up yeast for my next brew. Wife is having a hefe (left) made with kolsch yeast. She says it’s fruity but thin. I’m having a Vienna lager made with Mexican lager yeast. Mine’s got caramel notes with a little lingering sweetness. Cheers! #bskybeer

I go alcohol free several days of the week. I drink a fair bit of Athletic and it’s decent enough, but they don’t do Belgian styles. Tried Chouffe NA and thought it was lacking flavor. Found this and it’s quite nice. The aroma is a bit funky but otherwise reasonable for NA. #bskybeer

Blue Light Special alert! 🚨 Costco 12-pack of Kirkland/Deschutes Helles for something like $13. Light hay aroma with bready malt flavor. Light, crisp, low bitterness, crushable. The label cracks me up, like it’s some 70s off-brand malt liquor. Cheers! #bskybeer

I’ve not been thrilled with other versions of these fruity-hopped pilsners. This isn’t them. Light fruity hop aroma. Crisp pilsner malt with balanced bitterness. The mosaic hops aren’t overpowering, just right. Really refreshing. Highly recommend! Cheers! #bskybeer

Nutty aroma. Crisp, slightly bitter. Brown malt (at least what I think is Brown malt) dominant with roast and nutty flavors. Maybe I’m just not a fan of that brown malt character. It’s flavorful but not for me. Having just read ‘The Mountain In The Sea’, I dig the label art! #bskybeer #notstone

Peek-a-boo! Can’t remember when I got this (can’t be that long ago). Its wonderful. Boozy fruitcake and sweet cherry aromas lead to rich sweet malt with gooey caramel and toffee flavors. It’s medium bodied and finishes sweet. The booze is there but in a pleasant way. Cheers! #bskybeer #notstone

Changed gears as the sun dips. Lemon, pineapple and funk on the nose. Bright, effervescent, citrus and barnyard. Not quite bone dry but not far off either. The Brett is a nice touch. Curious what the American hops are. Cin cin!, I suppose? Whatever. Cheers! #bskybeer

Happy 4th, I guess. Beautiful day by the pool with family. Enjoining my recently tapped #homebrew French Pilsner made with Barbe Rouge hops. I really hate cold side fining and it shows. *sigh* Creamy head, earthy hop aroma, and biscuity malt. Could be crisper. Next time. Cheers! #Bskybeer

Last of the BOTM brews for the year (4/4). Chocolate and roast aromas don’t fool. Both are in the flavor front, some caramel mixed in, and the roast drying things out on the backend also. Medium body, 6%ABV. This is probably the best of the four offerings received in this batch. Cheers! #bskybeer

Took the day off to hang by the pool. Battlesnakes! An award winning Boh Pils, so said the signage at the store. It gushed a bit on opening. Fragrant hops lead to a clean, crisp cracker malt backbone with some spicy hop finish. It’s pretty tasty! At 5.2%, Imma have another! Cheers! #bskybeer

Earthy hop and hay aromas. Crackery malt and some grassiness that lingers on the palate. It’s crisp but that lingering note detracts a little. Not my favorite from Wayfinder but still tasty and at 5.3%, it’s a reasonable poolside choice. Cheers! Santé ! #bskybeer

Yet another masterpiece from Wayfinder brewmasters. Hay aroma, crackers, grassy malts with some vinous character (assume hops but could just be the power of suggestion being an Italian Pilsner). It’s effervescent and dry with a little spicy/herbal finish (saaz hops?). 4.7% ABV. Cheers! #bskybeer

Sign said this brew could only be found at Total Wine 🤷🏻‍♂️. Roast and toffee aromas make me think bigger beer, but it’s not heavy. Flavors of toffee/caramel fade to a light bready finish. Some lingering sweetness that’s going to go great with the Cardiff Crack (Tri-Tip) on the grill. Cheers! #bskybeer
