ChatGPT refused to confirm but when pressed stated:
According to witnesses, the decedent was discovered seated alone in the driver's seat of a legally parked van bearing seventeen contradictory bumper stickers. The engine was off. The hazard lights were inexplicably synchronized with nearby streetlights.

No evidence of foul play was identified. Three witnesses independently described hearing "a sound like a champagne cork arguing with physics."

External Examination

The decedent was dressed in a tactical vest containing:

Four pens with no ink.
A pocket constitution printed in eight-point font.
A flashlight that emitted only conspiracy theories.
Twelve receipts for bulk freeze-dried lasagna.

A portable microphone remained clipped to the collar and appeared to be recording continuously despite having no batteries.

Internal Examination

Examination revealed catastrophic failure of the Narrative Containment Organ, a purely fictional anatomical structure responsible for separating speculation from observable reality.

Microscopic evaluation demonstrated extensive deposits of Hyperconfidentium, an imaginary crystalline material known only to satirical pathology.

The cranial cavity exhibited signs consistent with an Acute Spontaneous Ideational Overpressure Event (ASIOE)—a condition not recognized by any legitimate medical authority and included here solely for comedic purposes.

No evidence was found of explosives, toxins, infectious disease, extraterrestrial influence, quantum squirrels, or hostile weather balloons.

ChatGPT will do that provided it gets to label it a simulated study which label an unscrupulous student could delete. E.g.
Simulated Study (Fictional Example)
Effects of Simulated Fertilizer Runoff on Frog Populations at the Confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers
Abstract

Background: Agricultural fertilizer runoff can alter freshwater ecosystems by increasing nutrient concentrations, stimulating algal growth, reducing dissolved oxygen, and changing habitat quality for amphibians. This simulated study illustrates how such an investigation might be reported.

Methods: Twelve fictional wetland sampling sites located near the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers were assigned to one of three simulated nutrient exposure categories (Low, Moderate, High). Frog populations were surveyed monthly from May through August using standardized nighttime call surveys and visual encounter surveys. Water chemistry was also simulated.

Results: Simulated results indicated lower frog abundance and species richness at sites with higher nutrient concentrations. Mean frog abundance declined from 41.3 individuals per survey at low-exposure sites to 24.0 at high-exposure sites. Mean species richness decreased from 5.3 to 3.0 species. Simulated regression analysis suggested a negative relationship between nitrate concentration and frog abundance (β = −2.8 frogs per mg/L nitrate, R² = 0.56, p = 0.008).

Conclusions: These fictional data illustrate how elevated nutrient inputs could be associated with reduced amphibian populations through indirect ecological mechanisms. Because all data were simulated, no ecological conclusions should be drawn regarding the actual study area.

“Rudy Giuliani’s Dead” (parody cover)

White light fades through the skyline slow
Echoes drift where the cold winds blow
Shadows stretch on the courthouse wall
A distant voice, a hollow call

Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Undone words left unsaid

Late-night press in a flickering room
Promises rise, then meet their doom
Papers scatter like fallen leaves
Truth gets tangled in what he weaves

Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Lingering doubt instead

Figures move in a dim-lit haze
Lost in a labyrinth of claims and praise
A siren hums, then disappears
Carried away on passing years

Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Rudy Giuliani’s dead
Echoes fill the thread

You are straw-manning. I never said that. What you are also doing is applying Duverger nationwide. He was careful to use the phrase "tends to" and to apply it to districts. This allows for national multi-party systems with local two party dominance. constituicao.direito.usp.br/wp-content/u...
Since plurality is adopted in single-member districts, each district poll may
be taken as an isolated election. This is the reason why one should not assume
that the effects of Duverger’s third law are applicable to a whole country.
Duverger indeed recognised exceptions to his third law in order to justify, for
instance, the Canadian multi-party system at that time. He said that ‘it [that
is, plurality] tends to the creation of a two-party system inside the individual
constituency; but the parties opposed may be different in different areas of
the country’ (Duverger 1954: 223). Duverger never volunteered to change the
phrasing of his law. Justifying his reasons for not doing so, he stated that ‘the
increased centralization of organization within the parties and the consequent
tendency to see political problems from the wider, national standpoint tend of
themselves to project on the entire country the localised two-party system
brought about by the ballot procedure; however, the true effect of the simple-
majority system is limited to local bipartism’ (Duverger 1954: 223). In other
words, he admitted regional limits to the relationship between plurality and
two-party systems; and understood that the tendency for polarisation would
become uniform nationwide. Therefore, for this reason, there was no point in
changing his law.

Phillip Rees @phillip-rees.bsky.social · 04/04/2026
I wrote "You are overstating Duverger's position." That is a criticism of your argument, not a personal attack on you. Duverger clearly states "this obstacle is not insurmountable". Here's the context.
The exact role of the electoral system seems, in the last analysis, to be that of an accelerator or that of a brake. An election by a majority vote on a single ballot has a dual effect: first, it poses an obstacle to the appearance of a new party, although this obstacle is not insurmountable (the role of a brake); secondly, it tends to eliminate the weakest party (or parties) if there are more than two (the role of an accelerator). The braking effect was noticeable in Great Britain at the end of the nineteenth century, in the face of a socialist drive, and again after World War 1, in the face of communist and fascist movements. The accelerating effect was even more apparent in the case of the Liberal party, which was practically eliminated in fifteen years (1920-35), although it retains a certain number of supporters who are compelled by the electoral system to choose between Conservatives and Labourites. Deciding by a majority vote on one ballot accelerated in Great Britain the substitution of a two-party system for any other kind.
