And finally, our most recent foster is Aunt May. We picked her up on Sep 18. She's a affectionate friendly girl and we fell in love with her immediately. We had to take her back, hopefully temporarily, due to home remodeling and an out-of-town trip. She's available for adoption. #cats #fostercats

We fostered Ceviche & Chunk for 38 days mostly in June this year. They are a bonded pair & surrendered. They were such good cats: affectionate and playful. Ceviche is a shorthaired female and Chunk is a longhaired male. They were adopted and are living the camper van life. #cats #fostercats

Bambi was our 21st foster. He was shy in the shelter. They didn't know if he was just scared, or if he was feral. We had him for almost 4 weeks and he was always withdrawn and scared. Most likely he was feral. He was placed as a working cat where he gets fed, but can avoid people. #cats #fostercats

Foster 20 was an named King Oliver. We got him the day he was neutered. He wanted to be outside. He howled a lot and hung out near the windows and in the catios. He like pets and scratches. We had him for 2 weeks and he was adopted quickly when they asked us to bring him back. #cats #fostercats

In February we fostered another cat from the Humane Society, a female named Prometheus. We called her Mithy. She had some digestive problems and only ever tolerated one of our cats. She was super affectionate and liked playing cautiously with cat toys. We had her 18 days. #cats #fostercats

Last Dec I got a van full of pets from Elko, NV. By the time I got to Wendover, I was set on fostering this surrendered cat which I named Mirabelle. She was a perfect cat: friendly & gentle. We had her for only 4 days, but one of those was Christmas. She found a perfect home. ❤️ #cats #fostercats

Cortado was foster 17. We had him for 2 months Oct-Dec 2025. He was a VERY shy cat who never let us hold him, but we did eventually get to pet him. He was fascinated by other cats, though scared of people. He was adopted by a very patient woman. She found out that "he" is female. #cats #fostercat

Foster set 15 was our 1st from the Humane Society of Utah. Three kittens waiting for their spays. We had Chanterelle, Enoki (2nd of that name) & Morel. the 1st 2 were crazy active, but Morel was shy. Chanterelle was the tuxedo, Enoki the calico, and Morel the black. ❤️ #cats #fostercats #kittens

Out 15th set of fosters was a Mom & 5 kittens. We temp fostered them 3 times for a total of 11 days over 2 months. Momma was named Gray, but we called her Gracious. The kittens were Charcoal, Silver, Cinerous, Slate & Gainesborough. Such a joy to see them grow! #cats #fostercats #kittens

John Wesley Hardin is named after an outlaw. When he arrived at the shelter he was peppered with bite & scratch marks and even had a bit of buckshot in his back. We had him for 2 months & he had most of his teeth removed. He was a genuine cuddle bug. We've cat-sit him twice since. #cats #fostercat

In January of 2025 a large number of cats came into the Salt Lake shelter from the Arkansas shelter. We fostered Moonie Koonie for 5 days. She had some serious hair loss and was in heat. Being young as well she was all over the den where we keep our fosters. She was so cute! #cats #fostercat

Foster 11 was Leela, named after a Futurama character with one eye. She was a cuddle bug and I got VERY attached to her in the 34 days we had her, including Xmas 2024. Her missing eye has an enucleation when we took her back and she was quickly adopted. #cats #fostercat

"Can you foster an older intact male?" We were dubious, but Barold turned out to be a cuddly softie. He was shut down at first, but wanted pets and holding. Oleander, an epileptic cat, was our 9th foster, meds 2x daily. We temp fostered him for 14 days and then full time for 3 1/2 months. He adjusts poorly to new places, but settles down after a few days and is very gentle after that. We've cat-sit him after his adoption a few times. #cats #fostercat

Our 6th foster was a set of 3 kittens from a group of 15 abandoned cats. Several of them had eye infections so bad they lost eyes. Ours were Rodeo, Spurs, & Chaps and were in better shape. We fostered them 25 days. They were adopted by our family members. We kept Chappie. #cats #fostercats

Our 2nd foster was a diabetic cat named Battleship. He had neuropathy in his hind legs and was very lethargic at 1st. When his meds were dialed in he became a different cat. He was adopted by a lady who had a diabetic cat before. We had him for 136 days in 2023-24 including Xmas. #cats #fosters

Our very first foster was a young cat named Amar from Best Friends in Salt Lake. He was so starved for affection when we got him that we kicked the other 3 cats out of the bedroom and let him snuggle for the first few nights. Once he felt safe, he stopped. We had him for 12 days. #cats #fostercat

In July 2024, we fostered 3 kittens. They came from a big litter. No mom and lots of health problems. After a month they were healthy and up.for adoption. We kept Chappie. The other 2 were adopted by other family members and are now known as Roux & Tatl. #cats #Chappie #flamepointcat

Enoki was a foster cat back in March 2924. After a week or two, the shelter asked if we wanted to bring her to the adoption showcase. We said no and adopted her ourselves. The intake exam estimated her age at 5, but the dentist who removed her teeth said more like 10. #cats #Enoki #tortiecat

Teddy is our oldest cat. Born in May2011. He was rehomed in December 2023. He'd been the only cat in a home with no kids. Then a baby was born and Teddy got jealous and a bit aggressive. Rather than have him go to a shelter, we decided to adopt him. A good decision! #cats #Teddy #greytabbycat

Of our 4 cats Momo has been with us the longest. She arrived in early November, 2017. Vet said she was about 3 years old. She was living outside at our sons' apartment and it was getting cold. She had been declawed and spayed. Very thin then, chubby now. #cats #Momo #cowcat

With Moki's passing in August, we now belong to four cats: Momo, Teddy, Enoki, and Chappie. Momo was a rescue in 2017. Teddy was rehomed in 2023. Enoki and Chappie are former fosters that just stayed with us (2024). #cats

My son and I drove down to the Nevada-California border and back on Wednesday and Thursday. Met a van from San Bernardino and picked up 26 carriers, mostly kittens. With 3-4 cats per carrier that's alot. Staff did most of the hard work, we just drove. #cats #animaltransport

I did an animal transport last Wednesday, the first since recovering from back surgery in July. I picked up 6 dogs and 5 cats in central Utah and brought them back to Salt Lake. 3 of the dogs were saved from a euthanasia list. It felt good to be doing this again. #cats #dogs #animaltranport

Ollie (Oleander) is an epileptic cat that we fostered for 126 days in late 2024 thru early 2025. He does not change venues well. He's a grouchy hellcat for a week or so, but becomes a mellow guy thereafter. He was adopted by a very patient person and has blossomed in his new home. #cats #foster
