I bought some "anti snoring" nasal strips today and just looked at the back of the packet. I'm confused. They were out on the shelf, and the store was DEFINITELY less than 30°C. I'm not even sure where i can store these that will remain above 30° at all times 🤯
Photo of the back of a box that reads:

Do not store below 30°C.
Store in the original package.

<then the usual "read the enclosed instructions for how not to kill yourself using them>

WTAF kind of clickbait bullshit is this RNZ? Seriously‽ I expect much more of a state broadcaster, and I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation either. Do. The. FUCK. Better.

My train this morning was cancelled between WAIK & PARA due to delays on the line - leaving me stranded at Waikanae, and then crammed into a half size service. The same happened on Tuesday. And my train home this afternoon is also cancelled. WTAF Metlink? Can I get refunds?

Waikanae Funeral Home has a beautiful old herse, with customised plates. And yet, every time I see it my brain goes "why are they associating death with Working From Home"? 🤯
A beautiful deep wine red car from what looks like the 1920s(? I dunno, think "Wacky Races" or the silent films with police chasing robbers?) parked up in the sunshine.A front on view of the car showing it's customised plates.

Oh, I hear you. For "Reasons" (TM) I am looking at creating a personal logo/monogram/seal, and while toying around with concepts last night, I landed on this... And I'm still not hating it this morning 🤷
A brush script typeface letter P takes up most of the space, and horizontally bisecting it is a serif script "TANNER" between two horizontal lines, like a label.

The script style of the P most definitely means it ends up looking like a dangling phallus with the testes at the top.

Screenshot of the Aranet4 history page from midnight to about 2pm. The reading bounces along between 520-550ppm until about 12:20 when it starts a near vertical climb to a peak of 3820ppm followed by a similarly precipitous drop back to the 550 odd base line.

Actually, this is possibly an opportunity to post one of my other favourite road signs, this one just round the corner from my house outside the small woodland nature reserve..
Another yellow diamond road sign, with rectangular yellow wording underneath.

The picture this time depicts a front-on car in the distance, coming towards us. In front of the car swooping downwards with it's wings extended, showing us a white belly is a large bird. These wood pigeons (kererū) have amazing iridescent neck feathers, and are very large. Famous for being clumsy, and occasionally getting literally drunk and crashing into things, they're Chunky Bois.

The writing underneath says "Slow for kereru[sic]" in all capitals

The only photo I took yesterday. I really do love these signs tho. So many layers of meaning into a simple roadside sign. :tinoflag:
Photograph of a roadside power pole, with a bright yellow diamond road sign on it, and a yellow rectangular one underneath.

The diamond has a depiction of an elderly lady (a kuia, grandmotherly figure), holding a cane with her hair up in a bun, holding hands with a young child (tamariki/mokopuna).

The one word sign underneath reads "MARAE".

I'm fairly certain the road sign imagery is a stylised version of the famous photo of Dame Whina Cooper and her mokopuna Irene Cooper on the Land March.

And as I say, that interpretation is just scratching the surface of what I could wax lyrical about on this design.

He aha te mea nui ki te Ao?
