I'm watching Polanski's film The Pianist and I've just realised that the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising happened nine years before I was born.

AI slop. LPs were never a single price. And listening booths weren't labelled.

We had scaffolders working on our apartment building a while ago. They really are the noisiest workers in the world.

Dutch greenhouse farmers are running Bitcoin miners among the tomatoes, using the waste heat to keep crops warm all year and cutting energy bills in the process.

How long do they sleep for, given that they have to hold their breath?

I had a friend who used to do this at parties. You pull the condom over your head down as far as your top lip. Then you suck in air through your mouth and blow it out through your nose. Easy.

Nobody did vocal harmony groups quite like the Americans.

Villiers Terrace is the best track IMHO It must be the last time Mac wrote lyrics that I vaguely understand, though.

Great piece. Scum was a painful watch, mostly because it was so believable.

It's been that way for a long time. My first job in 1972 was as a gardener, and we worked 8-5 with an hour for lunch. These days, I would guess that working 8-4 means you miss the rush hour traffic .

Baguettes don't keep, so that might be for a cafe. When I lived in Nice, you would buy baguettes in the morning and early evening.

Just finished watching the 2014 biopic of Stephen Hawking. Eddie Redmayne does a great job of showing Hawking's growing disability, although he does look like Austin Powers in the early years.
