IME, the best app is actually K Manga, and then Manga Up. you can pretty easily use just free coupons to read a LOT of series on K Manga. and they have decent campaigns for free coins every once in a while. they also have the best selection and original licenses

the manga app with the worst value lately has got to be mangaplaza. and them not even having an official mobile ver while being so stingy is just unbelievable. im glad that most of their series im interested in are also licensed in french -_- i basically just use mangaplaza to try out series

a favourite character from my earliest days in yuri fandom is... suzumi tamao. not all kanoko fans are tamao fans (because strawberry panic is old now), but all tamao fans are kanoko fans.

a character who got inched out of the list is...arisugawa juri. obviously this is because although i love her so much, shiori is tied with her. and since i can't pick between them, none of them win.

one of the characters who threatens the balance the most is...lapis tenebrae i'm only reading the official TL for Fed-Up office lady, but she's the modern miya-sama to me. i always joked that villainesses have 0.5% of the raw maliciousness of miya-sama. but lapis proves me wrong...

Also, as for the most popular members, it shouldn't even be a debate. Taeyeon, Yoona, Jessica.

phia (@_selphic on twitter) @phiabean.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Unlike any other girl group I have EVER been a fan of. That's why it feels so delusional for SONEs to pretend like this was not true. Or act like Sica didn't matter. It's really insulting. You can continue liking SNSD without the gaslighting.

100

phia (@_selphic on twitter) @phiabean.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

So that is why it feels so wrong to pretend Jessica was never there. And if you weren't into SNSD back then, you don't know how much their branding and identity was about being 9 members. The OT9 sisterhood was such a strong part of their identity

phia (@_selphic on twitter) @phiabean.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It's Sicagate anniversary and I'm always thinking about how every single memorable, legendary and groundbreaking thing SNSD ever did was as 9. Their entire legacy is as 9, and everything after felt like an encore or bonus maintained by the fans. but Lion Heart is one of their best albums IMO

the only one of these "9 things that shaped me" templates that i can confidently make without having to think hard #My9Animes

Sailor Moon, Bleach, Shakugan no Shana, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Azumanga Daioh, Strawberry Panic, Tokyo Mew Mew, Paradise Kiss, Kamichama Karin

Stop trying to make "narrow definition of yuri" happen. its not gonna fucking happen. it goes against the whole subculture

I just listen franchises don't have to live on indefinitely and if we never get a new AA game i don't actually care that much because what we alreadu have is so much that i routinely feel spoiled by it. And i don't even like AA5-6 that much

I can survive off of my own brain damage from ace attorney just based on like 10-20 favourite characters, 4 ships and my friends fixations so im better than the AA fans who will die w/o AA7 or w/o Edgeworth in AA7

the one sad thing about the oasis doc and the tour setlist to me is that it's SOOO focused on their first 2 albums + the masterplan. which makes sense from a business/popularity standpoint but it's a shame since all their albums are great (except for be here now which is....mixed...)

i decided to try one more episode of mechanical marie, and the biggest problem is the animation team has no sense of gravity. everything floats like a cloud even when shes punching people. omg. ill be dropping it and reading the manga (whenever i can fit it into my YP purchases)
