Unions can also negotiate protective workplace safety language into contracts. However, 94% of workers in Florida aren't represented by a union, and public sector unions in particular (and their CBAs) are kind of under attack right now.

PBS Writers in Boston, New York, and Southern California have voted to authorize a strike. The WGA can now call a strike if a deal isn’t reached before their contract expires on November 22. The authorization was unanimous, with the support of 100% of voting members.

Amazon workers at the company’s biggest West Coast air facility have officially launched a union drive. More than 1,300 workers are fighting for the job security, compensation, respect, and a Teamsters union. Over 18,000 packages move through the facility every hour.
