#sewing #garment After watching about 3 different YouTube videos on the topic I successfully converted 3 crew neck t-shirts to V necks! Life changing! Stay stitching & wash-n-gone stabilizer were found (video #2) to be essential.

This was my first attempt - pre stay stitching and stabilizer.

#Sewing I don’t know why but the straps on this halter dress were so uncomfortable - I think they were just too narrow?🤷🏻‍♀️At any rate, I scavenged fabric from the self belt and widened them! Much better now without a major change & I still have much of the belt. 😎

They are even - it just looks off in the photo.

PSA- if your hobby is running a chain saw (so NYTspeak to write “cutting up wood with a chainsaw” 🤦🏻‍♀️) wearing hearing protection, protective eyewear, and gloves is recommended.

Injuries from chainsaws are ugly while the one pictured is just a baby it could still leave a hell of a mark.

#garment #sewing folks can appreciate all the fabric that is in this $3 (nearly new) 4XL shirt I bought at the thrift today! Whatever I make, I want to incorporate the collar and the buttons in the design. I think the sleeves will become the tops for my granddaughter‘s dress.

The side table is my last (for now) furniture project The lamp base was a thrift shop find, the shade I bought online. The chair I bought years ago at a resale shop & had recovered. The footstool was a big box find that I sewed a cover for. Oh, & I didn’t complete my article. 😳 #Procrastination

My repair/refinish focus of late is furniture.

A refinished pine coffee table with painted legs. We added 2.5-in x 1.5-in Bun feet Maple Sofa table legs and painted them with mineral nearly black. (The maple wouldn’t have ever stained the same as the pine.) The rug is a rescue as well 🙂

Spruced up oak dresser (cleaned and lacquered drawer pulls, sanded and restained top, missing screws replaced) sitting below my $7.00 thrift shop mirror.

#sewing #slipCover Perfection is the enemy of the done. Went rather slip shod on making a slipcover for this stool. The final result looked like it🤬 I have more fabric & am going returning to the drawing board to remake it. It’s gratifying to read y’all‘s missteps to confirm I am not alone.

Poor naked stool - sitting there awaiting for its slip cover so it can join the matching chair.
