Nothing much, I've been losing weight and just dealing with my ADHD and depression. The meds I'm on now seem to be helping with my ADHD, so now just trying to get used to being able to focus on things and trying to keep getting better. How have you been??

A year and halfs on HRTs! One pic without makeup and one with. I lost 24 pounds this year so far too! And I'm now on ADHD meds and can actually focus on things!

The Gimli/Legolas “never thought I’d die fighting side by side…” meme, now with the Gimli image paired with the caption, “KIER STARMER: Never thought I’d be thrown under the bus by Anas Sarwar side by side with trans people,” and the Legolas image paired with the caption, “TRANS PEOPLE: Fuck off, cunt.”

Your putting words in my mouth. I am calling a dead man a fascist and a white supremacist, I haven't said anything about his murder. Your the one spreading hate and violence. No one should defend a fascist, doesn't matter if they are dead or alive.

Says the person who is defending a person who spread hate and violence. Yeah I'm more worried people like YOU exist.

But no I agree Mint is the best choice for most newbies. I threw it out there since this could have been one of the exceptions.

PhantomRena🏳️‍⚧️🖤 @phantomrena.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

That's fair, I first started Linuc with Manjaro like 12 years ago? It was a while back, so I get that. I now use Mint on my laptop and Manjaro on my desktop. I was more bringing it up because they were talking about wanting better privacy and security.

So you can but I wouldnt. The partition would have to be NTFS or Fat32. Windows only likes those formats. Linux can read/write to those but they aren't the best. I would just partition half a drive to a NTFS and the other half to ext4. Then store stuff you need on both on the NTFS.

Plus Arch sometimes is a good fit for certain people, especially if they are trying to get away from everything being bogged down in windows. It was part of why I brought it up, they can choose what they wanted to install. But yeah, I'm more giving options. Sorry if it looked differently though😅🫂

PhantomRena🏳️‍⚧️🖤 @phantomrena.bsky.social · 14/09/2025

Yep, it's generally pretty straightforward. Make a lonux install USB like you would for windows and boot from the USB. There should be an option of Install alongside Windows. If your doing mint, this is a good website. linuxmint-installation-guide.readth…

Oh no worries 🙂 I don't mind, plus asking someone instead of google means if you have a question it can be answered. Most linux sites are pretty up to date though, and even if you find older info, it's generally still relevant. Linux doesn't change that much. The changes are the different distros.

This has a good breakdown of arch vs ubuntu. www.howtogeek.com/872962/arch-... there are quite a few differences tbh. Ubuntu is more hand holdy, and will install a bunch of stuff with it to make the switch as seemless as possible. Arch is more you get a empty desktop and you download what you need.

So you can do it a couple of ways. One is having a drive, we'll say C: be partitioned into two separate drives. The other way is to just have 2 drives and have windows on C: and Linux on D: and then going into the bios and changing the boot. That will let you choose when you turn it on.

210

PhantomRena🏳️‍⚧️🖤 @phantomrena.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

Yeah I don't blame you. I dual boot my laptop and desktop. I use Lindows for some games, and Linux for everything I can😅 Manjaro is also like Windows but it does rolling updates. So everything is more stable and secure. It also has more freedom. It uses arch linux compared to mint that uses buntu.

210

PhantomRena🏳️‍⚧️🖤 @phantomrena.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

A lot of people seem to be switching to Linux lately!😯 Mint is a great choice, it's most like windows. Manjaro is also a great too. Its also very user friendly. 👾

That $20 can go another decade of them working on the next game too. I think most people(myself included) were expecting the game to be $30. Could they do $10 or $15, yes, but $20 is still a completely reasonable price. Plus if it's anything like Hollow Knight, we'll have free updates and free dlc's
