For quite a while I had the idea to built a slave clock with two second hands to compare the acuracy of a mechanical master clock to another time source (i.e. DCF77). So today I made such a movement out of two single TN movements. I will shorten the axles when I got a case & dial.

A very pretty calculator made in 1971 I have here. It contains a single nixie tube. Yes, just one. But it containes 8 sets of digits from 0 to 9 in one single housing. This kind of rare nixe tube is called Pandicon (ZM1206). This tube was specifically made for multiplexing.

I now installed this old manometer in my bathroom to indicate the pressure in the warm water pipes xD Oh btw, for those who don't know, since it was produced somewhen between 1920 and 1925, it uses a non-SI unit called "Meter Wassersäule" (mWs). 10 mWs equal roughly 1 bar (0,98 bar).

Ich habe das mal für einen Mockup probiert. Ich musste die Zeiger neu aus 0,3mm PVC auslasern und selbst damit schafft es das Drehmoment-Werk wirklich gerade noch so die Zeiger zwischen 30 und 60 hochzuheben. Bei den original Alu-Zeigern sehe ich da keine Chance.

This Dator 10 arrived with a broken glass. Today I finally got the time to build in a new one as well as rewire the lighting. The chokes for the flourecent tubes were broken so I replaced it with warm white LED stripes.

I still need to put in the side wind shields and the destination sign. But so far so good. I'm happy with it :3 The number 093 was one of the three prototypes (091, 092 and 093) that were built in 1967/68 before a series of cars was built from 1971 on.

Love my new watch. It's decent quality for it price and looks so spaceage. The numbers are slightly flourecent and the arrows move up and down on spindles to indicate the time, chrono and battery charge.

I fixed this variac. One of the brushes was broken and not making a decent contact anymore. Luckily I had got aome old motor brushes of which I was able to saw and file one to the correct shape. (1/2)

I installed the guide rail of my subway cab chair and noticed how clever designed that lever is. You can handle it with your foot to change the position of the chair in order to be able to keep your eyes on the track and controls while driving the train.
